GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KTLA) -- A woman is under arrest after police say she drugged her husband, cut off his penis and threw it into the garbage disposal.

Garden Grove police were sent to the home in the 14000 block of Flower Street around 9 p.m. Monday night after a woman called 911 for a medical emergency, according to Lt. Jeff Nightengale. When officers arrived, they found a man bleeding from the crotch area.


The victim was transported to UCI Medical Center in Irvine where he underwent emergency surgery and is listed in serious condition.

Investigators say the couple was married, but going through a divorce. The initial investigation determined that Becker made dinner for her husband. He told detectives that he thought there was something wrong with his food. He went to lie down and woke up tied to his bed. His wife then grabbed the victim's penis and cut it off. She called 911 and told responding officers that he "deserved it."

A search warrant was served at the home and detectives found a knife and a rope.

Becker is under arrest, charged with aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse. She is currently being held at the Orange County jail

Ya know, I've always had issues having sympathy for people in this situation. You don't get married to someone and then wake up one day and she's a psycho capable of drugging you, tying you up, and chopping your junk. Run the other way at the first sign of crazy and you'll have a better chance of staying out of the news.

Wow...that's pretty horrible. I had to do a double take when I read this actually happened in Orange County. I would have expected this in Mexico, though (just kidding baja ).

Woman cut off husband's penis after fight over friends, prosecutors say

Orange County prosecutors charged a Garden Grove woman Wednesday with two felony counts for allegedly cutting off her husband's penis and throwing it in a garbage disposal after drugging him and tying him to a bed.

Catherine Kieu, 48 faces one felony count each of torture and aggravated mayhem with sentencing enhancements for great bodily injury and personal use of a knife. If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Kieu has been held without bail since her arrest Monday night. Her arraignment is scheduled Wednesday in Westminster, where she is expected to plead not guilty.

The 48-year-old real estate broker lived with her 60-year-old husband, identified by prosecutors only as John Doe, at a Garden Grove apartment.

Prosecutors allege Kieu got into an argument with her husband about "friends staying at the residence," according to a statement by prosecutors.

The husband told police she served him dinner and he went to bed around 9 p.m. after feeling tired. While he was sleeping, Kieu "tied the victim’s legs and arms to the four corners of the bed with nylon ropes," prosecutors said.

The victim told authorities that when he woke up, Kieu pulled his pants "grabbing the victim’s penis and severing it with a knife." Kieu then took the penis to the kitchen and threw it in the garbage disposal, "turning it on, and mutilating the organ."

Kieu then called 911. Garden Grove Police Lt. Jeff Nightengale said Kieu told officers that her husband "deserved it." The man was rushed to the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange where he underwent emergency surgery. The severed organ could not be reattached.
