Default Taxpayers Pay for Weiner Treatment

Weiner Will Keep Collecting $174,000 Congressional Salary While on Leave

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) will continue to collect his $174,000 taxpayer-funded salary without interruption while he is taking a leave of absence to seek “professional treatment,” according to the House Administration Committee, which has oversight over the congressional payroll.

In a 365-day year, a congressman’s $174,000 annual salary works out to $476.71 per day.

Weiner announced Saturday through a spokeswoman that he would be taking a leave of absence from his duties in the House of Representatives.

“Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person,” said spokeswoman Risa Heller. “In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map our a course of treatment to make himself well.”

Who will pay for Weiner's treatment? Is it covered by Obama Care or will Weiner have a waiver?”

Will the Congress Rolls Royce Health Plan pay for the Weiner treatment?

You bet your sweet ass the taxpayers will pay for the bad weiner.........

What a joke. He's going to really hurt the dems by hanging on like this. Good for repubs he won't resign.

I guess what really bothers me and it’s not a democrat or republican issue but a problem with how we’ve put these bastards in a place that has no connection with the real world.

Try to imagine if one of your employees came up to you and said, I will be taking a leave of absence from my job because I‘m a sexual pervert and I enjoy sending naked pictures of myself and having sexual text chat with women I really don’t know while my pregnant wife is working overseas. Oh and by the way I feel that our company health plan should cover the cost of this little r&r at the Betty Ford clinic and most important, you will need to pay me my full salary while I’m gone. That’s exactly what Weiner is telling his constituents and he sees nothing wrong with this.

I hope he stays. Especially that the NOW group is rallying behind Weiner as a champion of feminist issues. Meanwhile someone of the same ideology is in Juneau pouring through Palin's old email in a desperate attempt to find any dirt. It's beautiful.

I think he's more valuable to the right if he stays. He's a psychologically ill narcisist and misogynist that is a supposed champion of feminist issues. He is about as interested in the respectful and equal treatment of women as the NAACP is interested in racial equality... or the ACLU is interested in civil liberty. A perfect example of liberalism.

Thats what I said. Him not resigning is great for the repubs. The longer he sticks it out the better as far as the RNC and the repubs in Congress are concerned. Hell hang around until the election that would be even better.

Wiener goes viral....

Independent probe clears Wiener of sexual harassment
By Luke Johnson | 06.08.11 | 2:41 pm

http://newmexicoindependent.com/7037...ual-harassment

Bernalillo County Commissioner Michael Wiener — not to be confused with Rep. Anthony Weiner, who faces calls to resign after mistakenly tweeting a picture of his crotch intended as a direct message — has been cleared of sexual harassment by an independent staff commission. The commission did characterize his comments as “inappropriate,” according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Here’s the gist of the employee complaint:

In Smyer’s complaint, she said Wiener stood in the doorway to her office and said “looking good.” His tone of voice and the way he looked at her made Smyer think he was “talking about her physical appearance,” according to the report.

Wiener maintains he was talking about the office’s decorations and fresh paint. It hadn’t been occupied by anyone previously, he said.

“It was simply a misunderstanding,” he told the Journal in an interview last week.

According to the investigative report, Smyer said that on another occasion, Wiener told her an offensive joke, a pun on his name and the last name of Commissioner Wayne Johnson: “Did you know that the (County Commission) now has a Wiener and a Johnson on it?”

Wiener said later that he was talking about the different kinds of hot dogs, not male genitalia, and that he was just repeating a joke he’d heard from another commissioner…

On another occasion, Oliver said, Wiener leaned over and made a sexual joke during a commission meeting. There was talk about changing positions on a certain issue, and Wiener told her, “I don’t care what position we take, as long as doggy style is included.”

Wiener has a history of off-color comments as commissioner — he forwarded racist e-mails last year:

The forwarded message – titled “Sex in the Shower” – suggesting that most African-Americans are either in prison or have been. He sent the message from his private email account to the government accounts of two other county officials.

Wiener later said he doesn’t have a “racist bone in my body.”

Wiener also faced criticism last year for other emails. In one message, he referred to a Santa Fe man as “VERY Hispanic and NOT very sophisticated – very very BLUE Collar.” He signed another email “Commissioner Rodney King” after quoting King – “Can we all get along?” – in a message about a neighborhood dispute over loud music.

The complaint did not meet the threshold for “hostile work environment.”
