haynesworth was the best DT in football before going to washington....

he is a head case but he was told to his face before signing that the skins would not go 3-4 and then after signing they did just that and had him play out of position...

i believe when motivated he's a beast....

if the skins want orton, which i doubt they do, i make the trade...

No. He's a cancer, has already gotten paid and really has no motivation to do anything of value and is basically a joke at this point. I'd like a real asset for Orton, not taking a problem of off someone else's hands (although I do like the idea of Shanny not having to bother with him anymore...just not at our expense).

The FO has implied that they have a real, legitimate (i.e. not settling for trash, taking big risks etc.) plan to strengthen the DL. The acceptability of their draft relies on this premise. If the "plan" was simply to go out and take a bunch of risks to fill this need, then then "sticking to their board" or whatever else you want to call it was completely irresponsible. No.....we're not going to be forced into bad situations to address the DL. The people in charge chose to totally ignore it...well they better have something good in mind then to solve this problem, not trying to rehabilitate Haynesworth or anything like that. That's not an acceptable response.

I catch basically every Skins game out here. Haynesworth was still unblockable when he was playing. The guy stil has it despite being a turd. Leave it to Shanny to take the best one-gap DT in the game and make him a space eater in a 3-4.

I wouldn't trade Orton for him though. I think we can get a DT that is about as good, and less of a headache and keep Kyle.

I don't think Orton is automatic trade bait right now. I think the coaches are looking forward to the camp competition between Orton and Tebow. If Orton wins because Tebow isn't quite ready yet, fine. We have Orton for one more year and Tebow continues to learn, and at the end of next season there will be no lockout and we can work Orton into a trade involving the draft next year. He's still young enough to be considered in his prime so I don't think we lose any value there.

there is multiple teams who could possibly contend with orton at QB. minnesota, AZ, SF....hes the most realistic option for a lot of these teams because they dont want to give a 1 for kolb.

No doubt. But I'm saying I'm not totally sold the Broncos want to part ways with him this year with Tebow only having played a handful of games and we'll see how long Quinn stays since a new coaching staff is here. I think the Broncos could be looking at this thing from the perspective that they want Orton to be the starter for 1 more year. Elway has said that he didn't think Tebow was quite there yet and not sure they want to start the season with Tebow as the starter. I don't think we lose any value for Orton by keeping him 1 more year and certainly being able to include him draft trades next year will be an option. I think the coaching staff would like a full year to work with Tebow to see if he can turn that corner (in their eyes) before letting Orton go. Orton can play, we've seen that. Maybe the Broncos feel with a better defense, Orton is enough right now as the team rebuilds around new managements philosophy.

I think for sure Orton is trade bait. Maybe for a pick, maybe a player, who knows. Even teams like Tenn with a new rookie could be interested in Orton for a pick or player to back up and help out for a yr or 2. Or cards, or the skins, etc etc.

i think they have already paid a large chunk of that guaranteed money.

also with only 48 million of the contract guaranteed. and the way it breaks down he would hit that 48 million dollar mark by the end of 2012.

the 7 year 100 million number makes it seem enormous, but after 4 years the team can cut ties with him and move on with no further money owed.

and in 2009 anjd 2010 the Redskins have already thrown 35.6 million at him meaning for 2011 and 2012 we would only need to invest about 13 million on what has been seen as one of the most elite DTs in the league.

cap number for 2011 is 5.4 million and for 2012 is 7.2 million. which after 2012 season would bring his total money paid on the contract to 48.2 million meaning, his guaranteed money is paid and we could either release him or rework a new deal.

essentially the contract is a 4 years and 48 million contract, so it would not be a terrible move money wise and need wise for Denver. especially if we can get him for Orton straight up

i still see Minnesotta as the best spot for him even with Dalton.

Not happening. Frazier has been saying for a month that they are drafting a QB & throwing him into the fire from day 1.

And it's Ponder, not Dalton.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is not trying to be cagey about his team’s desperate need for help at quarterback.

“I can’t imagine a scenario where we wouldn’t add a quarterback [in the draft] at some point,” Frazier said Tuesday, adding that it would “ideally” come in the first two rounds. “[The idea] would be to get a young guy that could say, ‘OK, we’re going to ride with this guy. He’s our [Joe] Flacco, he’s our [Mark] Sanchez, he’s our Matt Ryan.”

I agree, but I think you mean ponder rather than dalton. A williams brother would be huge but a 2012 3-6rd pick is more realistic
