Default LineBacker Core?

What about the idea of Miller in the inside... kinda of like a ray lewis or patrick peterson?

I mean think about Williams-Miller-Woodyard

Alot of speed and playmaking

I initially projected Miller as the MLB in the Broncos 43 scheme but Fox says he will play SAM.

Whatever, he could be a great MLB too.

He'll play SAM and I'm certain they have a specific plan to maximize his potential or they wouldn't have selected him.

I'm also VERY confident our MLB isn't on the roster right now.

Mike Backer is a huge question mark. Anyone think Spencer would want to flip sides of the ball again?

I bet he would love it. I'm sure there is a reason none of the 32 teams wanted him as a LBer though. Why is he being brought up so much? Did Fox praise him or something?

Miller isn't going to really be any position. He's going to be a disruptive force rushing the passer.
He better be Derrick Thomas/Lawrence Taylor or I'm going to be pissed.

Be prepared to be pissed then.

How much more unreasonable can you be than to expect a rookie to have a hall of fame career or he's a flop? ffs...

You don't take his pass rushing ability and put it in the middle of the field.

Think Clay Mathews Jr...

If we had to play right now, I suppose we'd have DJ and Von outside with Haggan or Mays in the middle although I'd be intrigued about playing Woody and Von outside with DJ inside. Not a huge fan of DJ in the middle, love him (and always have) as a 4-3 WLB but since Fox really values speed at LB - Woody brings a lot more quickness than Haggan.

With that, I agree with Rev that I think our MLB may not be on the roster right now.

I honestly think he would be best at WLB, but with Doom coming in on the right side, it's a nice 1-2 punch.

Just throwing it out there, but there are plenty of other FA options.
The Broncos don't have any 4-3 MLBs other than Larsen; Mays is a 3-4 thumper with lead feet, Haggan a below average back-up DE or SP-T'er and I doubt Kelly has developed enough physically. I wouldn't be surprised if none of them made the roster. Koutouvides isn't as strong as Larsen, but better in coverage, equally solid instincts, and almost always a FA option for back-up MLB and SP-T'er.
