Default Don't forget about Kenrick Ellis

6'5"', 350 lbs and unlike most massive interior NT/DT guys of this size range, this one actually makes plays and can penetrate in the backfield. Some character issues got him suspended and kicked out at South Carolina which is why he wound up at Hampton. He's there for the taking, so if Austin and Paea are gone, how would you like this guy?

What makes him worse than Austin?

He might be better. If you mean character, he smoked weed in college, not sure what else he did to get in dutch with USC. He's enormous and nimble though.

Dude is from Jamaica and in the spirit of the island, he can not keep himself from firing up the ganja on a regular basis. This guy will be suspended for a year at some point of his career, it is in his blood.

When I look at video (ie youtube), Austin looks stiff and is always standing up. Austing is strong but not very fluid. Like you said, Ellis seems to have a lot more flexibility and fluidity and that's while being a lot bigger than Austin.

They both have flags, the difference is that Ellis' are from 4 or 5 years ago, while Austin's are more recent because he hasnt played since 2009. There are a lot of guys who were projected as 1st round picks after 2009 but end up drafted later because of how they played during the most recent season.

Got kicked out of USC for failing multiple drug tests and was arrested for assault once he got to Hampton. No thank you!

After reading that glowing description you might be wondering how such a gifted player wound up at Hampton, a Divison I-AA program, and therein lies the rub. A highly-regarded recruit coming out of high school, Ellis actually began his college career in the SEC at South Carolina. After redshirting in 2006 and working as a backup in 2007 Ellis was dismissed from the school for “violating university policy”. According to sources Ellis had failed multiple drug tests during his time with the Gamecocks. Ellis eventually transferred to Hampton, which has been a haven for other talented but troubled prospects, where he proved to be a man amongst boys. Unfortunately Ellis ran afoul of the law this past April when he was arrested for assault after breaking a man’s nose and jaw in a fight.
