Default Miller was broncos pick since atleast the combine

Von Miller was Broncos pick since at least the combine. There was never "late'' momentum. All those mocks with Dareus were always wrong.
from mikeklis.

also, tomorrow fox said this team is going BPA, period. not reaching for a DT just because they need one. said there is multiple options in FA for that as well. all 3 guys (EFX) were unanimous on selection of miller.

Mebane would be an excellent FA option even if we go DT at #36.

Thats good to hear....that they're looking at free agency for a DT. Thats the best way to win now. Youngsters take time, and there are a couple of guys out there who would immediately help this team. I would like to see them take Bowers if available and then take Paea at 46. Snag a couple of free agent DT's (spend all the dough on Mebane), and a safety, and you're ready to roll.

This defense needs talent though. Bowers off the bench would give us SICK End half closing power in games.

You can never have too many grade A defensive linemen, no matter where they are. Bowers is a load. Dude is big and strong.

I love Von Miller that guy is going to be nasty playing on the opposite side of Doom, especially in third down. Great pick. BPA from here on out is perfect

i'm all for Bowers @36, that's just insane draft value. but how much of a factor is the knee and did he play with it?

Even if Bowers knee wasn't a serious issue (and it obviously is given that he's a top 5 talent who's still on the board), he's a poor fit after picking Miller. Bowers, Doom, and Miller are all STRICTLY edge rushers, and you can only have two of those on the field at a time. NONE OF THE THREE have the skill set to be an elite interior rusher. I LOVE Bowers as a prospect IF healthy, but he's FACTUALLY a poor fit at this point.

There is no value if he's out of the league in 2 years. He's got the knee of Paul Toviessi.

I think we'll find out if Bowers knee bothers us or not.

My problem with Bowers is along the lines of Tommy Harris. A lights out player who hurts his knee and is never quite the same. It scares me too.

It sounds like Bowers is in a position where the knee is already shot and it's just a matter of how long it'll hold out. The worst part is they're already talking microfracture surgery. If he holds out, presumably the knee is functioning now and he may only make it a few seasons before it's completely done. If he has microfracture, maybe he never comes back at all. Who wants to draft a guy who is going to have potentially career ending surgery before ever taking the field? At this point, would he be fit to go into training camp? Depending on how bad it is, he could be 5th round flyer material in the long run.

I hope it's Bowers. He was the guy I wanted with the first pick before he got hurt. Then when he got hurt Miller was the guy I wanted.

Chris Mortenson hinted on twitter that Bowers didn't pass Denver's physical.

All things being equal, yes. But the knee is obviously a MAJOR issue, or he would not be available with his top 5 skill set and production.

I asked in another thread about Paea's injury but couldn't get an answer. Does anyone know what it is and where he is in recovery?
