Default Holy Crap Texas is on fire !

Cnn just reported that 354 out of 356 Texas counties had fire in them.

Jerry Jones better start watering his TV. That's gonna be a lot of melted plastic.

There are some pretty cool satellite photos of this on the web. This site has some of the NASA satellite photos:

So I looked at the links and there is no consistent data. Everything contradicts itself. Also although there is a lot of fires I see know way that 354 of 356 counties are on fire. I would think there would need to be way more fires then there are.

Why does the news have to say this crap.

I have seen these fires move personally (and been a part of neighborhood efforts to fight them) and it is a scary sight indeed. With the right amount of wind they can move at a brisk walking pace easily.

Yep the water prognostication for Texas is not good. It will eventually stifle there growth like it did in calif for last decade of drought. We know have water and it will help us over next few years make a ton of money in agriculture. Some estimates say we can produce 25% more food this year.

Terrible news, and it's only April. Wait until July/Aug when things *really* dry out. We've already had a couple significant fires here in Colorado.

There is a great song about fire with a funny video but I will refrain from posting since this is obviously serious. Get well soon Texas!

I'm gonna be cool and quote myself from a different recent thread:

I did as soon as the Army allowed me to GTFO of there.

I'd rather live in West Virginia. At least their Rednecks aren't ARROGANT!

We don't agree very often, or to be honest, almost never. This IS one of those rare times we DO!

I surmise that the hatred towards Texas is wrought out of jealousy. What Texas has, both past and present, is a beautiful thing.

Texas is alright. Proud bunch but the country folk in Texas are about as good a brand of people as you will ever meet anywhere.

Ive been broke down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere in a couple of states in my life, and only in Texas have people pulled over to offer help.

As long as you stay out of the major cities, which is true most everywhere, Texas folk are good people.

There's a spirit of rugged individualism here that is pretty cool. Personal responsibility is expected, and you're expected to be good at taking responsibility for yourself. It's the same thing that makes Euros jealous of Americans. It isnt any wonder that wimpy Californians and Colorodoans are all whiny about Texans.
