Speaking of mistranslation, there was a very interesting theory that I read recently. Apparently there are people who track all of the language in the series:

http://wiki.dothraki.org/High_Valyrian_Vocabulary

Based on this, there are two phrases of particular interest that are nearly identical in Valyrian: (Spoiler due to possible plot points not yet revealed) SPOILER: ( "Lord of Light" (aeskiot onos) and "Goldenhand" (aeksio ondos). ) Obviously the theory revolves around the two phrases being switched at some point during the course of history.

I thought it was a pretty good episode.

But next week (66 minutes) should be awesome enough to keep people talking all year.

If it contains what I think it do.

Didn't notice this before but found this little easter egg tonight while rewatching episode 8.

Check out the Red Viper's squire, rubbing down the tip of Oberyn's spear with heavy leather gloves and a tarnished cloth:

Yeah, I remember noting that when the episode first aired. He is called the Red Viper for a reason. If they follow the books, Gregor Clegane receives the death that many of us had wished on Joffrey.

I pointed that clue out to the wife when it was on. She hasn't read the books but asked what happened prior to the scene. I told her it doesn't end well for either guy.

You just noticed that? Hell it's known that Oberyn has his revenge in death.
I had to point it out to one of my friends who has recently gotten into GOT.

That was pretty funny. To continue off-topic talk, I really hope Melo doesn't go to the Mavs.

That was priceless. He had such hope that he was going to say it was him.

I kinda thought they would put Lady Stoneheart in this finale.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Hound crossing paths with Brienne. No Zombie Cat to close out the season? The wall scene was rather anticlimactic as a whole, I feel like the book made it much more desperate. They just threw you into Tyrions escape which was also a lot more thrilling in the book. All in all I feel like they tried to do too much with too little time, and it makes me wonder if they should have cut some of the fat/filler from previous episodes or seasons.

I read that for the next couple of seasons that they will be splitting the remaining to stretch out the series. The series will probably end before the books do. I think I read somewhere that George RR Martin already gave the producers of the show the outline for the rest of book series. What elements from "Feast of Crows" do you want to show up next season?

Tyrion's assasination of his dad and getting out of the castle seemed a little too easy. Do they only have one guard for the entire castle? He goes from the dungeon to the hand of the kings chamber to the bathroom and back down to the dungeon... Still has to wait for Varys to open the door, jumps into a box, gets hauled onto a ship in very slow dramatic fashion... And then the alarm bells go off??

Hbo ran out of money doing all those special effect shots.

Also why is Stannis up north? Did they hint this at the iron bank and I missed it?

Overall this has still been a great season and the best show on tv right now.

As someone who doesn't read the books, I was really satisfied with the finale. I thought there were lots of emotional moments, some doors closed, others completely opened.

I can only speak from the experience of watching the show, but I always figured that all these factions would somehow converge on King's Landing and there would be some sort of race for the throne. Now, I don't believe its headed in that direction, so I guess its all up in the air. Regardless, on a visceral level, i know im really enjoying a show when I check how much time is left because I don't want it to end. I think I checked 6 or 7 times tonight.
