I really hope they have the Davos side story in White Harbor. It doesn't appear to have really long term implications but it is damn entertaining.

Hey now, what other writer is brave enough to devote several pages in a row to eel pie or the taste of breast milk?

I would be pleasantly surprised with that since it seems like one of those items they don't necessarily need to advance the story with what the apparent death of Mance

That certainly isn't going to be a memorable episode, other than the 5 minutes with Tyrion. Nothing changed, nothing learned, and Jon Snow still knows nothing.

So, after watching this episode am I the only one getting a weird mirror vibe between Sansa and Hizdahr zo Loraq. Both are more or less being held prisoner by the someone responsible for the death of their family, both are now being forced into a marriage of convenience to unite a divided land, and both get to witness their future spouse doing terrifying things and wondering if said spouse was about to order their own death. I know Hizdahr was never really portrayed as an overly sympathetic character, either in the books or the TV show. So for me to start to feel for the guy really speak about how far off the rails Daenerys has gone.

I don't know what's the bigger injustice: That or them having the Unsullied lose that fight in the first place. They had time to form up and were wearing armor (vs a bunch of angry aristocrats in robes). So what if they were outnumbered, Unsullied LOVE being outnumbered!

...with allies and supporters dropping like flies, Daenerys is using her image and reputation for more than just symbolism. Marrying the dopey Hizdahr zo Loraq (he speaks for the Meereenese!) is a canny inversion of the Sansa story line. No longer can Daenerys be a bystander to a slow-burning tragedy of her own making. She has to put her actual skin into the game if she has any hope of winning it. Or, as the ghosts of Valyria might say if anyone were listening, you have to make history before you’re consigned to it.

The show writers are getting a bit too full of themselves...and making crucial mistakes in execution. The episode should have ending with Tyrian fading into the blackness of the water...

Not with a lame ass grayscale reveal. Christ they are ****ing up.

As I mentioned earlier, we cancelled HBO, because the price just wasn't worth two decent series a year. So I haven't seen any of the episodes from this year.

But jeez, it sounds like they are going in numerous different directions from the last couple of books.

I'm increasingly doubtful that Martin will live long enough to finish the last couple of novels, so the HBO show may be all we ever get.

How do you folks feel about that? Is the show more satisfying or is it jumping the Greyjoy?

How dare you. I can't believe people still miss shows due to cable/satellite prices in this day and age. uTorrent. Get it now.

Show is getting meh again. A few shots of dragons, stone guys, and dragon toasted nachos. Snow's wildling adventures sound promising.

The degree to which this show is diverging from the books is getting utterly ridiculous. I still enjoy it more or less, but all the changes are not improvements in any way.

Getting dangerously close to Trueblood. I came to grips with them weeding out non-essential parts...but it appears now that they are just replacing them with weaker plot points.

What's the point of making a show follow exactly to a book or comic?

If a fan of the book then go read that again. I'd rather them take creative liscense to form the best product for ther type of media.

People that don't read the books, like me, think it's great. Apparently people who do read the books aren't happy. They may as well stop watching now because the show will no longer follow the books.

It's nice to know that the book nerds are now as in the dark as I am. I won't start reading until Martin finishes all of the books. I will not invest my time reading all that unless I know there will be an ending to it.

I read the books and I like it because it won't ruin the books for me. And if I don't care for something I know Martin could possibly change it. I do like that, at least right now, they get Jon Snow's parentage right, and will be sticking to the same-ish ending Martin has in mind.

From a book [s]nerd[/s] enthusiast standpoint, the rage comes from missing out on getting to see awesome scenes from the book, such as Barristan's one on one with the Dothraki bodyguard. And because we wanted to see Strong Belwas and his ridiculous tiny vest.

That doesn't mean I can stop watching this stupid deviating show though, I'm hooked
