I recently got the Donnie Hathaway Collection. its just one cd but it has all the songs you need on there.
I also got Citizen Cope. He kind of reminds me of a mix between Everlast and Sublime. I recomend people here to check him out if they want to hear something different. |

I'm a drummer - but i love all music. I'm a huge fan of the roots and "a tribe...." But alot of today's hip-hop is not my cup of 40oz. |

THAT looks like a CD i need to get...i'm a huge talib fan. Did that just come out?
Just bought Mark Farina Mushroom Jazz vol. 3. Liked it so much that I went and bought 2 and 4 as well. There's so much talent looped throughout each that I might have to go on a pretty big shopping spree. My favorite track though is from this group called Slide Five. Streamline. Perfect music for just about any situation. It's got this mellow electric piano with some pretty nice vocals and bass tracks coming through. Very impressed. |

This one will enjoy some heavy rotation for awhile. For you whippersnappers this is the guitarist Eric Clapton used to bootleg his recordings.
I swear he plays the meanest low down dirty Blues. A song like Wayfaring Pilgrim can make you remember every bad thing you ever did and make them seem good. It may have been snowing this morning but his sound can make you swear you are in some steamy, sultry, black velvet night. Last edited by Tredici; 02-13-2007 at 12:01 PM.. |

![]() To celebrate the fact that on June 9th, I will be sitting in the Pepsi Center watching one of my heroes and possibly my favorite all-time band reunite! My seats absolutely blow, but I'm in the building so I'm happy. |

I've been checking out a fairly unknown band from circa 1971 Hackamore Brick "One Kiss Leads To Another"...it's fairly rare but very highly rated...it's bridges the gap between The Velvet Underground (think the self-titled album and Loaded here) and Television. It's well worth seeking out.

I have been listening to a lot of relaxing stuff. Namely a band called The Next Best Thing. There lead singer has a unique voice. Its pretty much an accoustic band, but ive been really into it. I recomend anyone who likes that kind of stuff to listen to it.

Ive said this somewhere in this thread before, but if you like that kind of hip hop, you have to check out a guy called Heron DeMarco. He is a little rawer (?), than Talib, but its very similar. If you find anything I recomend the songs Way Down, You Inspire Me, and Fireflies (probably the best hip hop song ive ever heard). He produces all his own music and plays about 4 or 5 different instruments.

http://www.notlame.com/ http://www.midheaven.com/front.html You could try those, but if I were you, I'd go the eBay route...just make sure it's the CD and not the LP that you're bidding on. Here's a write up on the album itself http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p...0:1i62mpc39fco Last edited by Hogan11; 02-25-2007 at 08:36 PM.. |
