It's amazing when you listen to the older music and try to recreate the time lines to where things really come from. I think a lot of that is lost everyday.

oh, and btw...
So proud of my dad. He finally came out with his first jazz album!!!!! He's a jazz pianist, and he's been wanting to put it together for a looooooong time. It sounds FANTASTIC!!! He composed, played in, and directed every song on the album, and I couldn't be happier for him now that it's finally finished! Not your new age jazz or anything, it's just a technical, rich, well rounded compilation that sounds great. If I could figure out how to upload, I'd put a track on here....but again, the whole "non-computer" skills come into play here. Anyways, good stuff |

METALLICA TO HELP INDUCT BLACK SABBATH INTO THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME
3/8/2006 [ back ] So there we are, hanging out at HQ getting ready for our first visit to South Africa, and a call comes in wondering if we can leave a few days early and stop by New York to induct a bunch of guys from Birmingham, England (they're called Black Sabbath, you might've heard of them) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It took us all of 3/4 of a second to say "**** yeah!!" Black Sabbath wrote the book on heavy music, and like many other snot-nosed kids, we read it religiously over and over again. For all of us in Metallica, Black Sabbath are a major influence not only on our music, but on our lives, and as you can imagine, we're psyched to join Bill, Geezer, Ozzy, and Tony for the induction ceremony on Monday, March 13. Not only will we be inducting Sabbath, we are going to make a humble attempt at playing some of their songs live in front of the gathered masses, including, most humbling of all, the four members of the band themselves. If you want to check it out, VH-1 will be there with their cameras. For show times look here. http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/hall_of...howtimes.jhtml |

I currently have Armin Van Buuren and D.J. Tiiesto and Paul Oakenfield in my CD Player.
I have gotten so sick of the garbage music that I actually started doing party mixes again. That's right D.J. Sweat has returned!!! I guess it's a mid life crisis. I just finished a 1:17:36 dance mix that has people swarming for copies. Electric Kingdom - Twillight 22 Dance - Egyptian Lover One for the Treble - Davy DMX Body Mechanic - Quadrant Six Clear - Cybotron (Missy elliot stole this beat) Al-Naafiysh - Hashim Pack Jam - The Johnsun Crew Planet Rock - Afrika BamBaataa Push the Button - Newcleus And more... I took out my 1200's but I have to get a new mixer. doing my mixing using Mixmeister 6.1 which is new for me... As soon as I master that I'm moving to Ableton. Look out!!! |

That IS his newest one, it's pretty damn good. He's been around for a LOOOONG TIME (we're talking Juice Crew), but he never really blew up.

CANT WAIT - i was hooked from the 10 second blurb i heard yesterday. I've also been on this Ludacris kick for the last few days. Chicken and Beer, that **** pounds in the car. Here's a question for all of you music buffs: Ever hear of D.J. Dillinja? It's not DAS dillinja, or whatever, but I know that he's got his own cd out there somewhere. He was on a few tracks with Goldie on an album, but I honestly have been to just about every music store in denver and no one seems to know who i'm talking about. Anybody ever listen to his stuff? Some of the best trance beats I've ever heard |
