We finally have temps in the 70's where I am...and for some reason, that made me break out The Black Crowes "Southern Harmony And Musical Compainon" CD...a great work of neo-Stonesish rock to blast from the car and annoy all the bass blaring homeboys with You should see how they look...they act like they never heard the sound of an electric guitar before .

I was with you until this. I like the Indigo Girls on the whole, it wasn't until the very late '90's that they became increasingly more militant and strident with the political and homosexual thing....that made them just unbearable to me which is why I'd never recommend anything past Swamp Ophiliea

I met Amy Ray once back in the late 80's in Athens GA just before the self-titled CD came out and she was very nice and talkative. They came off as a female version of Aztec Two-Step then....great harmonies, great guitar interplay, good to great non-preachy material....now all the pluses are ruined by endless preaching about their political and lifestyle stance....tragic indeed.

this is the last group iim gonna endorse...if you are a rap fan, i recomend this, Graveyard Shift, they were in mo thugs and have a couple songs on the 1st and 2nd mo thug albums. there other music is extremely hard to find, but u can get on mp3.com and they have some on kazaa. if u find make a wish get that one. anyways, they would have single handedly changed the game of hip hop. they talk about real stuff and harmonize too. two of the members got shot and one is AWOL. its a shame

Crass will seperate the poseurs from the true believers in a heartbeat as well. I love Christ The Album not only for the cool songs (which is about as accessable as Crass ever got) but the cool editing of sound clips in between each one making it a hypnotic seamless whole....nobody put the ideology over as convincingly either....I miss them and all the trouble they caused.

Afterlife - Joe Jackson Band.

Joe reunites his Look Sharp! band and, in turn, becomes the Man he once was years ago in his "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" days...they still have it and so does he....it makes me happy and angry at the same time. Happy that it works so well and is so timeless and angry because this guy wastes so much time and talent trying to make lofty, BS artistic statements instead of doing what he clearly does best....believe me, this is what these guys do best. Of course, Jackson says it'll never happen again and he's off to compose an opera or some such nonsense....**** you Joe.

I've been spinning Television all weekend long...some great guitar work on those cd's. I'm especially glad I got the "Live At The Old Waldorf" CD from Rhino handmade....limited edition of 5000, barely lasted a month before selling out.
