The Metheney group stuff is ok, but I prefer his straight up jazz. He is, by far, my favorite soloist out there. Melodic, incredible chops. He does tend to overplay sometimes, but when you have chops like that, it's hard not to.

Speaking of chops, Metheney, when evaluating his own technical abilities a while ago, said that maybe he needed to take lessons from Frank Gambale.

Still listening to Mudvayne's new CD, "Lost and Found."

Also...

Rascal Flatts - feels like today
Toby Keith - Honkeytonk University
Brad Paisley - mud on the tires
Kenny Chesney - when the sun goes down

So, aside from Mudvayne, I've just been listening to country music.

Time to play Didja know?

Didja know they want $55.00 to see Bo Diddley when he comes around my area next month??

Now I really like Bo and he's a legend and all of that...BUT 55 smacks? I didn't pay that for Dick Dale & Link Wray combined.

Velvet Revolver was the first CD that I have purchased in years, and it still left me underwhelmed. I havent liked much of anything since Soundgarden or Alice in Chans!
