it was funny...john mayer seems like a down to earth guy. and that song sounds real good, coming from a hip hop fan.

Wow. From the Band Question #2 thread, I said the following:

Today, I just got a PM from Mr. Josh Dodes himself. Kind of cool.

As for what I'm listening to:

Phil Spector: Back To Mono

and in honor of Josh Dodes now:

Josh Dodes Band: Get Up
Josh Dodes Band: Freak

I've often wondered about this band since they've toured with ska acts and such...never heard anything beyond "Zoot Suit Riot"....are they the crazy, drunken swing band that song seems to indicate? Do they do some ska as well? Are they another "Big Bad Voodoo Daddy"? I honestly haven't a clue.

You should've seen them live like DenFan & I did last November....great show.
You'll dig the others, but the recording is about the same or (on some releases) worse.....which is all part of their sound/image anyways, so it's all good.

Somewhere on here there's a pic of Judah Bower with DenFan & I....I think it may be in one of the pics threads.

Wrong group. That's the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. The Squirrel Nut Zippers did the song "Hell". Mainly I dig it because it's a GREAT example of using a room mic to mic all of the vocals in the background. I love that effect.

I don't mind Sum 41. Something about their new single "Pieces" really catches me, and I'm not sure what it is. Besides, once again, they're another group that doesn't take themselves seriously. Something nice in the Scott Stapp era of musicians acting Christ-like.

I stand corrected....thanks Nuggets, I tend to get those groups confused. I remember "Hell" now that you mention it....I'll pass on it but I know the effect of which you speak and it's cool.

True, but there's a big difference between being unpretentious and being twerps....and them boys are the biggest twerps around now that Blink 182 have deep sixed.
