Default Prospects Visiting the Broncos (Official 30)

According to the Denver Post here are some of the 13 players who have met or will meet with the Broncos this week:

Da'quan Bowers, DE
Jaiquawn Jarrett, S
Mason Foster, LB
Colin Kaepernick, QB
Nick Fairley, DT
Von Miller, OLB
Marvin Austin, DT

If you guys find any more of the official 30 visit names, please post them here. Dove Valley visits only.

I like seeing Mason Foster on that list, and Jarrett is an interesting option at safety.

Clemson star Bowers visits Broncos

Make no mistake, the Broncos are considering trading back from the No. 2 spot so long as they get another first-round pick, and at least a second-round pick, in return.

The possibility of trading out of the No. 2 spot is why the Broncos are visiting with so many players who may go later in the first round.

Besides Bowers, the Broncos will meet today with linebacker Von Miller, defensive tackle Nick Fairley on Wednesday and quarterback Cam Newton on April 19.

Interestingly they throw this little nugget in there

Any updates? I think there was another thread that contained more names, but didn't find it using the search function.

Spring,

Here is an article from Mile High Report.

I'm not sure how accurate that is, but there are some names there.

Did Tebow even show up on the list before hand last year?

Defensive End (3)Defensive Tackle (4)
  • Nick Fairley, Auburn
  • Marcell Dareus, Alabama
  • Phil Taylor, Baylor
  • Marvin Austin, North Carolina
Should be noted here, the Broncos sent EFX to the pro days of Auburn (Fairley) and Alabama (Dareus), and have been rumored to have significant interest in Hampton DT Kenrick Ellis. Curious though that they have yet to bring in a single defensive tackle in this deep class.

Linebacker (7)
  • Von Miller, Texas A&M
  • Lawrence Wilson, UConn
  • Casey Matthews, Oregon
  • Bruce Carter, North Carolina
  • Akeem Ayers, UCLA
  • Mason Foster, Washington
Cornerback (3)Safety (2)
Love this! Out of 30 interviews possible a majority are on DEFENSE! Yes!

Pittsburgh DE Jabaal Sheard had a private workout with Denver.
Not sure if it was one of the 30 but it was private maybe on campus

Add Villanova OT Ben Ijalana to the private workout list as well as

Kansas State RB Daniel Thomas

He's my dark horse candidate in a trade down.

Give me Quinn and Austin from NC and I would love to see what Fox does with this two athletes.

Don't be suprised to see NE jump up and grab Quinn.

In two years ,I think Quinn will be the one of the top 3 best players out of this draft.

I wish I knew exactly how Fox felt about Ayers that would make our predictions a little more simplier

I think that if bowers checked out medically, and the broncos stay there, they could pick him at 2. Stranger things have happened

I have to think he's penciled in as the starter!? I think he showed enough, and that he'll be a solid enough starter

Quinn is one of those guys that flying below the radar that has a chance to be very good pro. If he there it a would set up a nice rotation of Doom, Quinn, Ayers.

Stop advocating for the Broncos to draft two players who were suspended the whole year from college football. We don't need those types of risks. Good grief. Are people that nuts?

I've wondered if Quinn could be a target for the same reason.

Because they are top rate talent, and according to all reports NFL folks are happy with the response they given to them about the suspense. Let be real, they didn't get suspend for drugs or crimes, they got suspend dealing with potential agent, something that happens more often then it should in major collage football.

I think there is where the problem is in that they knew the rules and still broke them. That's a red flag in my book!

Top rate talents who have been out of college football a year. Sorry, those aren't the kinds of players we need on this team, or prospects like Kyle Rudolph who have missed a good portion of their college careers due to injury. They aren't deserving of early consideration from us.

Denver needs impact players, football savvy guys and people who aren't in trouble. Their suspension from the NCAA was rightful and for good reason. I'd rather not have such immaturity and lack of common sense on my team. They knew the rules and broke them. Poor judgment. If all reports were good on these guys' response to suspension, they wouldn't already be dropped from draft boards.

Also, Quinn has a ****ing tumor in his head. Some teams think it is a concern, others don't. Pass on Quinn and Austin every day of the week. Way better players to select.

I agree

You know the top sought after athletes in Amercia are paid to play football.
Just watch any 30 for 30 documentatry on Eric Dickerson or Marcus Dupreee to know that a guy like Patrick Peterson was paid something to play at LSU

This team needs a dramatic talent infusion on defense. The "team first we can win with 53 Larry Izzo's " is not the mantra any longer

And you're advocating a talent infusion on defense with players who (A) have character concerns (B) judgment issues (C) and one has a tumor in their brain. Moreover, they haven't been active in playing college football in a year.

This team needs talent and impact performers. If you think that those two are going to provide that as rookies, you are insane. I have no interest in drafting a player who has been out of college football a year, when there is no CBA which is already going to impact the condition/form players return in when the league finally does start rolling again.

Quinn/Austin = Dumb

Yeah, lets spend picks on guys who didn't play last year! SMART MOVE.

I can only assume you don't watch college football....Either that or you are just plain retarded.

If Austin is there at 36 (Which is doubtful)....You take him.

If Denver were to trade down with a team like Washington or Minnesota and Quinn is there (Which is doubtful)...You take him.

Why? Quinn isn't even comparable to the same player as Ayers and wouldn't have his role in our defense. Why would you worry about a guy who is going to be a 4-3 RDE or a 3-4 OLB and how he projects/compares to a guy who plays LDE in the NFL?

If you watched Quinn play at North Carolina, you'll see that a majority of his statistics and sacks came from lesser competition in chunks. He was hardly consistent. You'll also realize he doesn't have a good variety of moves, and just gets by on his athleticism. That isn't going to fly in the NFL.

It takes good instincts, awareness and judgment to do that at the NFL level. Something that is lacking in his game.

Couple that with being suspended, brain tumor issues and other various concerns and there is no reason we should consider him.
