I'm pleading with you. Wait. for. the. dvd. Don't waste your money at the theaters (I know I know, a bunch of you already think the movies are a ripoff, but this isn't directed towards you).

Aside from 25 minutes of pretty awesome special effects, the rest of the movie is garbage. It tries (miserably) to paint this moral picture "you already have the tools, now fight!", but fails on just about every level with plot holes, crappy acting, CHEESY one liners (Scott Glenn, you ****ed up homie), and a mish mash of ideas that just never come together, complete with one of the worst endings I've ever seen.

NOW.

I'm not usually the type that criticizes film...I'm the guy in the group who always finds the silver lining in just about EVERY movie; there is a point when even MY optimism can come to a grinding halt. Today was that day. I've enjoyed PLENTY of ho hum special effects laden extravaganzas, but I just couldn't do it this time.

Seriously.

DO NOT waste your money!!!!

Non-film critics seemed to enjoy it, based on the audience reviews...

It's weird. I'm a pretty harsh critic (i think all comic book movies are ****ing retarded), but i really liked Suckerpunch. There's something about Zack Snyder. He over-stylizes his movies to the point where they just become their own genre. I bought it. I found it sexy. I dug it.

This has been a weird year for me. I generally go to the movies a lot and also find the silver lining in just about any movie. It's rare I just hate something from start to finish.

This year, though, I literally haven't been to the movies once. Nothing has really jumped out at me that screams "see me in the theater". But then I look ahead to all the movies coming out later this Spring and Summer and there's probably at least 20 that do scream it. No real spreading of the wealth this year for me.

I saw an extended preview and while the women looked really hot, It looked like one of those "let's show their imagination!" movies where they show CGI dragons and they're really banging on a door with a mop in real life. I hate that stuff.

That is because no one wants to risk $100 million + on something that is not a sequel, remake, or comic book/graphic novel.

They cater to the Transformer generation where every scene has an explosion in it.

It would make a great band name too, "Poopfist" or "5,000 Fists of Poop".

Poopfist sounds more hippy Phish, Deadhead type band and "5,000 Fists of Poop" sounds like a hard core death metal band. Maybe I would go with "Broncosteven and the Poopfist" for the songwriter lead singer name.

Yes. Zach Snyder is a terrible director who somehow manages to get lots of money from studios to make horrible movies.

Avoid Battle LA... it's a poopfist, or a poopfest. It's definitely craptastic.

Poopfist wasn't a typo, it was an image conjured up on the basis that a fistful of poop would've been better than the ten dollars and fifty cents I spent on that waste of two hours. Upon further reflection, it would be a fantastic username OR death metal group, so I release all rights to OABB and Broncosteven to use as they see fit.

And for the record, I LOVED 300, enjoyed watchmen, and was impressed with Dawn of the Dead. So, Snyder, imo, layed an egg here

Gay director makes great movies when the leads are male...not so much when they are female. I'd say that's typical. Which is why I have high hopes for the Superman reboot.
