I think, after thinking about it. I would agree with you.

At first i thought single over gay, but when i really thought about it. That does not make any sense at all. It would be much better for an adopted child to go to a gay couple vs a single parent (male or female).

Children may not be asking out of hateful bigotry, though. My son is 5 and doesn't yet understand race. The time will come though. As with all things, when a kid first discovers it, he becomes inquisitive. Much like he innocently pointed out big people, people that looked silly, etc when he didn't know better, the time may come when he asks the wrong question at the wrong time.

Should that stop people from pushing the social envelope if that's what they choose to do? Absolutely not. Would I wish a child wouldn't have to deal with the reprecussions of those problems though? Absolutely. Thus, any child who wouldn't have to deal with those questions, all other things equal, would be better off, in my opinion.

In other words, it's too tough for you to raise kids to be accepting and respectful of others, so it would just be easier for you to raise your kids in societies in which none of their friends or classmates had anything other than a WASP upbringing. That avoids you having to answer your kids' questions.
