Default John Fox talks Football!

I thought this was a decent article. Not surprising, but they plan on meeting with Dareus, Fairley, and Miller this week!

Dammit. It's not everyday that a guy like Patrick Peterson comes along. He's the best player in the draft and he'll be there by the time we select.

I like Darius, too, but I like more bang for the buck.

I think when Elway looks at Peterson and sees a guy as big as he himself is playing CB who can move like that he's gonne be sold. Then snag Marvin Austin or Phil Taylor later and we might even be lucky enough go find our TE in the 3rd.

I can see a smoke screen when it is put right in front of me... Mentioning those 3 players by name means we are going Peterson. Been there, done that before with our Broncos.

I'm not sure we need much of a smoke screen at the #2 spot. I really don't think Peterson is going #1 overall

Actually CBF I think Fairley is the player they like the most but have concerns regarding him and for good reason. If Fairley does anything to mitigate those concerns or at least make the Broncos feel comfortable that they will not affect his ability to be highly successful... he will be our pick!

Out of curiosity, how would Fairley mitigate concerns?

We signed John Fox, not Jeff Fischer.

He would mitigate concerns by listing them?

It's not even signs or signals. They're talking to the guys as they hit their pro days. LSU's doesn't start until March 15th. They'll be talking to Peterson then.

Consider the possibility they could trade down and still get him. If Carolina takes Fairley and Denver trades out of the #2 pick with someone like Arizona, it's possible. Cam Newton is the wild card here. If someone falls in love with his athleticism and his arm, they might offer enough to make it worth while to move down. Buffalo probably takes Peterson 3rd and Cincy would probably want Green, then it's between Bowers, Miller and Dareus maybe...we could conceivably pick up at least another 2nd maybe more. I'm leery of doing that more than a few spots though, and only if they don't want Peterson, who I think is gone by 3.

Pae was considered as high as 8th on some boards I' believe. He's also tweeked his knee recently so he might slip a bit. I'm totally unsure where Taylor goes. I think he could go anywhere from 15th to 50th.

Its funny because last year it was widely prognosticated that Denver would take Thomas or Tebow, and they followed script and took both.

if we take Peterson or Fairley and Dareus is on the board still i am going to drive down to dove valley after the draft and kick Fox, Xanders and Elway all in the nads. i will seriously want to kick my childhood hero(Elway) in the balls if they don't take Dareus if he is available or worse if they take Peterson at all.

if you want bang for your buck, take the best player at the position that directly impacts the overall play of the rest of the defense. and sadly that position isn't CB it is DL

I think it's kind of funny and I think it's kind of sad. The drafts where we were dying were the best we ever had. I do think it's kind of funny that everyone in the known universe was saying that we would grab Tebow. Then we get Thomas instead. Then we trade back into the 1st to grab Tebow anyway. Also kind of sad that everyone "knew" we were going to do it. WTF is up with that?
