Default Texas and Secession

They're having rallies in Texas to forward the idea of secession. Personally, I'm all for it. I thought we straightened out all the traitors during the Civil War, but I guess not. Texas has caused nothing but problems since they were allowed into the union. I vote that we let them secede, or sell them to Mexico, or trade them to Mexico for Baja California. Any which way works for me.

We would have taken a small unihabitable island of the coast, but anything more valuable than an asswart will do for Texass. You must take all inhabitants as part of the deal. (This includes Dumbya, Llama and BF7)

I was in Montreal many years ago. All I remember is the immaculate subway and the good soup.

Texas for Baja? Would do that deal in a second. Can you imagine the revenue producing power of Baja?

We probably have to keep Houston though for the refining.

But not fast enough and not with enough profit. Hand it over, dude. That Gadsden guy made a big mistake not putting the line down to the gulf in the first place. There was barely a soul out there at the time.

They also take more federal tax money than they contribute -- like pretty much all "red" states.

And who in those blue states are paying nearly all of those taxes? The republican minority, the guys on wall street you are constantly railing on.

Dude, you can't have it both ways. You can't say there are oodles of uberrich on Wall Street and at the same time ignore the fact that if they are there and making all that moeny that they are paying a lot of taxes.

In blue states with big cities like NY and Illinois there is a massive difference between the wealthy and the poor so it only stands to reason the bulk of the taxes are being borne by the wealthy.

Surely even you can comprehend that. It can be easily proven but really do I have to? We all know the statistics by now and know in a blue state like NY the distribution will be even more extreme than the nation as whole in the rich bearing the bulk of the tax burden on an absolute basis.
