Default John Elway on Champ

I know it's already been brought up just thought this was new. Good to see Elway coming out and telling me what I want to hear...again.

Thinking about him in a Ravens uniform pisses me off.

Man I hope he comes back next year

-Fox as head coach will definitely improve Defense
-Allen as DC should help the secondary a ton. His secondary in New Orleans have always picked off a ton of passes.

Is Champ still interested in staying on the team? I don't recall any recent interviews with his comments on the topic.

Champ has been posturing for months. All of his answers about Tebow, Fox ec.. are "Well, it'd be fun to win with them but that's no reall my choice" kind of stuff. He wouldn't even bother if he didn't still want to be here. He will end up here and it will be for less that he would receive on the open market.

Why would he take less money to play for a horrible team?

Also if we REALLY wanted to keep him, then why didn't we tag him like every other team did with their star players?

I don't think the Denver FO wants to pay full value so most likely he will leave and sign with a contender if and when Free Agency starts.

1. He will take less money because he likes being in Denver. Everything he has said in the past few months has been open to coming back. He wouldn't even bother if he didn't want to come back.

2. Plenty of teams still haven't used their franchise tags. We still have a week. I'd guess that they will try to hammer out a tentative deal that will be signed and put in place with the new CBA over the next few days. If they can't get it worked out, expect to see him tagged early next week.

Time will tell but my money is on Champ being here next year.

The offer that he got is more than what I would think other teams would offer him.

I agree Bowtown, I'm putting it at about 70/30 that Champ is a Bronco next year.

Elway does not understand what it means to be a Bronco (great TJ line ever)!

Jury is still obviously out on how good a VP Elway will be....but it SURE is nice to have the executive speak out on these topics and have the HC focus on coaching.

Finally the right job by the right job title ('cept for the sock puppet Xanders who really should be label as contract\yes man\pizza dude).
