Default Obama Going Full-On Republican

Now he wants to cut energy subsidies for the poor which they use to heat their homes during this record breaking bad winter. I guess Obama wasn't too affected by his "community organizer" past. Pretty soon, the Republicans will have to give him honorary membership in their club. Remember, Clinton earned his Republican badge when he threw poor people off welfare.

Yes, its a new trend to "right the ship" and I noticed your woman Arianna Huffington just sold out her fellow progressives for $315 million.

Announcing the deal, she and her new boss went out of their way to say that the new Huffington Post would emphasize things other than the liberal politics on which the brand was built.

Clinton also tried to cut LIHEAP. Dude's trying to copy Bill Clinton, but really his sole aim is to get re-elected. He could give a crap about poor, elderly, or youth. As for the proposed cuts, it's pretty standard around here to whine, cry, and flail ones arms without providing any data as to how the cuts will actually impact anyone, and how much.

Still haven't heard anything about cuts to subsidies for oil companies, big agriculture, energy, military/industrial, etc.

Yep.

If we really want to right the economic ship, then ending corporate welfare would be the place to start.

Obama should spend some time reading posts by people like you.

Then he might finally understand why it's foolish to try to compromise with repukes.

If he was going full-on republican, he'd act like he had any sort of navigational sense in the rough seas of American politics.

Dude's an amateur.

Fully agree. Let's get cutting dammit.

There is nothing more damaging to the natural scheme of things than subsidies. Subsidies distort everything, are extremely and inherently unfair, and are amazingly hard to get rid of.

Subsidizing of growing certain crops, ridiculous.

Subsidizing of certain kinds of energy, really insane. There is plenty of private money in the energy sector.

Exempting certain unions from paying their health care costs, criminal.

We shouldn't leave Iraq for the next 50 years. To leave would be insanely stupid. 30-50k plus troops should be stationed there pretty much indefinitely.

Subsidies are terrible.

Subsidizing **** like ethanol, which is a net-energy loser, is beyond retarded.

America would probably use less energy and resources if they weren't subsidized to be so "affordable."

Sing it brother. I am with you on this one.

But just make sure you don't put artificial taxes on it either to try and control behaviour.

Let the price be what the market sets.

But genius:

There wouldn't have been any need for stimulus packages, bailouts, etc., had your party and the court-appointed pinhead not driven the economy off the cliff.
