The free agents out of Carolina this year all seem to be at positions that the Broncos need help in. Could they follow coach Fox into the Rocky Mountains?

Ryan Kalil C, Charles Johnson DE, Nick Hayden DT, James Anderson OLB, Thomas Davis OLB, DeAngelo Williams RB, Dante Rosario TE, Jeff King TE

Can we just graft this whole group into the Denver Broncos roster and call it an offseason? Thomas Davis might be done after 2 ACL tears, but if he comes back he would be a great player to have here.

in before smart-ass "yes that's brilliant, get players from the only team worse than the Broncos" comment

I wouldn't be shocked of they went after DeAngelo - Fox obviously likes the RBBC approach.

Don't know about Kalil - we're certainly not set at the position but we just put up a high-ish pick for Walton ast year and I'd like to see that develop.

Don't know enough about the other to make educated opinions...enlighten me, folks.

Kalil, Johnson, Anderson, and Davis are all exceptional players. The acquisition of any of them would improve the Broncos significantly. Kalil and Johnson are two rising stars. Davis is coming back from 2 ACL tears.

Amazing those guys were the only ones on the Panthers that didnt suck. Unbelievable that the free agency list for the Panthers were the players that contributed and everyone else sucked. Great idea drama! At least McD went and got ****ty guys from a great team. While the list doesnt mean they suck like Maroney and I like Kalil as a former SC guy, you want our FO to order pizza from our inhouse delivery guy and sign 'em and call it a day? Why are you wasting your time on the Mane when you could be writing for bleacher report? I would look at no more than 2 from that group. Gold mine? Maybe a silver mine found in a zinc hole.

I don't really know those players very well. Williams I sort of like but I like Bush from Oak better for some reason.

In his first year as a starter, DE Charles Johnson had 11 sacks and 62 tackles. He had 8 sacks the previous season. He's a stout, powerful guy who pushes the pocket and sets the edge. He's a star player on the rise.

James Anderson is a big OLB - 6'2" 235 - who had 130 tackles, 4 sacks, and a pick last year in his first year as a starter.

We sucked last year too. That doesnt mean that Elvis Dumervil, Champ Bailey, and Ryan Clady suck.

These guys are climbing the ladder in Fox's defense. They'd come in here and not miss a beat.

However, they'll probably get paid more than we can afford.

Certainly expect we'll be looking at a few of these guys.

Johnson would be a great addition, but I can see him getting a very hefty contract somewhere and I'm not sure that Denver are going to be big spenders in FA this year.

I think Anderson is going to be looked at very closely. We'll need better linebackers if we're going back to 4-3, which is what I expect is the ultimate goal. Anderson would be very nice as a SOLB. Davis might be a good option too because teams won't offer him big money after his injury issues.

I don't think either of the TE's are anything to get excited about at all, Williams would be nice at RB but much will depend on his price tag. Kalil will stay in Carolina I expect, they'll probably franchise him.

Definitely think it's a nice situation though, we should be able to get a couple of starters out of them.

Johnson would be a huge take. It would alleviate the need to draft a DE. That guy setting the edge and letting Doom tee off from RDE would be awesome. I really dont see us being able to afford him, but he would be an excellent get in free agency.

If the Broncos could somehow trade Orton, snag Johnson, Anderson, Brandon Mebane, and then draft Patrick Peterson...look out. That's enough pieces to make this a dominant defense.

You rotate your DT's Mebane, Bannan, Marcus Thomas, and Jamal Williams.
You rotate your DE's Dumervil, Johnson, Ayers, Bannan
You put in the backfield DJ, Anderson, and Hunter.

That front 7 rotation kicks butt. It would play both phases fantastic and would have a chance to win the point of attack against every team they play.

The thought of a front four of Johnson/Mebane/Bannan/Dumervil is exciting. You wouldnt ever even have to blitz with that group.

Bannan is a solid rotational player as is Marcus Thomas. Jamal Williams is over the hill. I don't know Mebane but even if he is a solid starter he'd be the only one.

This team needs to draft DT and bad, we really have no outstanding talent at that position. A rotation of Mebane, Bannan, Marcus Thomas, and Jamal Williams would give us the same mediocrity we've seen for the past decade.

We DO?

I thought, under this scenario, we would also give up all our draft choices.

The **** that comes out of your mouth is legendary in its stupidity.

As for the lineup, I like some of these guys. Getting that DE from Carolina would be a huge pickup, and I think the RB could have some success here in rotation. But honestly, that's all I see.

I think at running back I'd rather have Chester Taylor as a goal-line/short yardage back, as well as a breather for Moreno.

Moreno and Taylor? yes please.

yeah the thought of bringing in a ton of guys from a team that is worse than you is oddly reminiscent of Shanahan bringing in the entire DL from the Browns.

i don't mind the RBBC but i think there are better options than the oft injured already taken quite a pounding Williams

and I agree about Walton, and I still want to see in Beadles has anything

i don't mind a few stop gap players for a season or 2 until we get draft picks in line to take over. this team has far too many holes to fill them all with just draft picks.

I wouldn't mind a few of these guys. That being said, I would bet most of these guys are going to be resigned unless I have missed them saying they don't want any of them. It is way too early to be looking at FA lists as the very large majority aren't really going anywhere(or aren't worth getting).
