Default Class of 2011 Predictions--HOF

A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 inductees. Who do you say should go in this year and why? Who will be this year's snub?

Here are mine:

Should get in: Roaf, Deion, Faulk, Sharpe, and Tim Brown.

The first 3 are pretty easy, IMO. Roaf is probably top 10 OL all time. Deion was the best cover CB to every play. Faulk changed the RB position with his ability to take what Roger Craig had started and perfect it. Tim Brown is the one that is the hardest case because he has to compete with Carter and Andre Reed for the HOF spot. Reed is a distant third here. He did not really dominate his position, had a HOF qb throwing to him, and played on teams with gerat surrounding talent. Carter had Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, Rich Gannon, and Daunte Culpepper throwing to him and played in an offense that threw more than it ran, meaning many more targets (Moon made Carter a rich man) for him. Brown had Gannon, Hostetler, George, Jay Schroeder, Billy Joe Hobert, Donald Hollas, and Todd Marinovich throwing to him.

Brown was top 5 in receiving yards 4 times with that rotten bunch of qb's. Carter never got higher than 7th, i think. Carter had more TD's and each guy led the league in receptions once. Carter made 8 pro bowls, Tim Brown made 7. For the most part, it's a push. Tim Brown, however, was a valuable kick returner (all pro in 88, )as well which gives him the nod as well as the fact taht he compiled Carter-like numbers on far inferior teams and organization.

The snub would be either Brown or Carter, whomever doesn't get in but it'd be a HUGE injustice if Shannon or Roaf don't get in.

Hmmmm, assuming the lockout happens and is still going in August, I wonder how that might change HOF weekend. Obviously, there won't be a game played, but I wonder if anything else will be effected.

I am really against Tim Brown making the HOF. Same goes for Curtis Martin and Jerome Bettis. If they let those guys in, they better start opening the door to a lot of other players.

Sanders, Sharpe, Roaf, Faulk, and Carter should be locks this year. But that doesn't mean they all get in. Sharpe and Carter could be snubbed

If Deion and Shannon BOTH get in the HOF at the same time, that could make for an interesting telecast. I'd look forward to both of their speeches...

Agreed. Same for Carter.

They shouldn't have a minimum. Roaf, Dieon, Sharp should make it. If TD hasn't made it, niether should Faulk IMO.

I definitely agree on Roaf and Sharpe. I think Sanders does also, if nothing else the media hype. I would not have a problem at all if none of the WR made it but if one does I think it should be Tim Brown. He did an excellent job with a sub par team. I can remember how badly I wanted him when we signed him to an offer sheet and Raiders turned around and matched it. Is this Dawson's first year of eligibility? If so, probably not but I can see him getting in eventually. Same with Charles Haley.

Willie Roaf, Dermontti Dawson, Deion Sanders, and Shannon Sharpe. Screw the rest of those guys.

And why hasn't Dawson gotten in yet? 6 time All Pro, All 1990s Decade Team. I mean damn, what more do you have to do? Interior linemen get no love.

Sharpe, Carter, Dawson, Faulk, Sanders. All five of these guys were dominant and only Carter wasn't considered the best at his position for an extended period of time. Doleman and Roaf unfortunately have to wait another year for me, even though they're both completely deserving (remember, 7 guys can go in, but 2 spots are more or less reserved for the senior committee). I'm with Jason on Dawson--if he doesn't get in, no interior offensive lineman will or should (ok I lied, Larry Allen will make it regardless but come on Dawson was dominant)

I'm guessing Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders, Willie Roaf, & Cortez Kennedy.

Sharpe, Dawson, Roaf, and Sanders all have at least 4 All Pro selections and they are all on firsts team All Decade Teams. None of the other players can claim that. So that's the four I'm going with.

What more do you have to do?

Play for the Steelers or Cowboys. Maybe the Giants.

Dermontti Dawson DID play for the Steelers, for his entire career for that matter...
