I like the realistic aspects of the movie. You know, like sawing a truck in half... and traumatic ocular evisceration. Just like the real thing.

Loved both AGS and The Program.
Also liked that short-lived ESPN drama whose name I forget. |

I must be getting old... I don't think I could put any given sunday in the top 10.
Let alone #1... The Longest yard, Blindside, Remember the Titans, Rudy, Brians song, the express, invinceable... Last edited by TheProfessor; 01-30-2011 at 09:33 AM.. |

Friday Night Lights, AGS, The Program, Remember the Titans - all tops in my list. Any Given Sunday is definitely more a great movie about Football, not necessarily a great football movie...if that makes sense. Oliver Stone did a good job of sensationalizing every aspect of pro-ball. |

Ok, so you're putting "Invincible" above "Any Given Sunday
"and Pacino had TWO great speeches in that the one where he tells Beamon that he is sitting the playoff game and that have Spartucus in the background and the final speech ("its a game of inches, and they're all around us") And "Blindside" sucked |

North Dallas Forty is probably the best football movie of all time, IMHO.

Any Given Sunday was an okay movie. Nothing special about it. It was way over the top at times, like anything can happen any given Sunday, but in that movie it happened every single Sunday.
Rudy and Remember the Titans are my two favorites. Any Given Sunday don't really compare to those movies in my book. I like The Program a lot too. It came out when I was in high school and I went to see it with my entire football team, which made the movie even better. We were pretty pumped after watching it. |

Rudy, Remember The Titans, The Program, Necessary Roughness, Longest Yard, North Dallas Forty and Friday Night Lights the tv show not the movie, are far and away better than all the other crap football movies and tv shows. I haven't seen Brians Song. Last edited by MileHighMagic; 01-30-2011 at 06:52 PM.. |

I've always been a big fan of The Program. Watching it nowadays tho, wow the acting sucked sooooo bad lol. But a great football movie.

'Friday Night Lights'. But what was the movie where Kathy Ireland was a kicker and Sinbad was an offensive lineman? That one was almost as good.

What? No Jerry Maguire love...tee hee, just kidding, outside of Cuba Gooding Jr and Regina King, I hate that movie..You complete me...puhlease, it's more like you completely annoy me idiot..
As for greatest football movie, I haven't been particularly impressed by really any of them. Any Given Sunday was okay. Friday Night Lights on TV is quite good, but its not NFL related (oddly, I've never seen the movie). The Replacements was funny, but I refuse to list anything with Keanu Reeves as greatest of anything. |
