Did an awesome job with the seahawks today if we got him an awesome d cord I think it would be good. Also he is familiar with the broncos being he was a coach here. What do you guys think?

I think he's staying in Seattle until he's ready to be a HC.

We tried the really young HC thing already. Didn't work out so well.

No. No no no no no. No.

No.

Not enough experience. His offense has looked terrible most of the year.

Hiring a guy after one good outing is what gets you JaMarcus Russell as QB.

I'm mentioned him all week, now he gets love.

His prob is he's 34 with no defensive or HC experience. Can't see us doing this after the McD fiasco.

Maybe he learned a couple of things from his father on defense

If you go back, I posted something when they fired the Goodmans. Something along the lines of: "McDaniels will be here until Shanny's golden boy (Bates) is ready to take the throne."

Don't think it will happen, but if it does, it will be one hell of a thread bump for me.

I think he would be good if we get him some good cordinators and don't give him every power but ownership

I'm actually not sure how his dad was as a d cord but he had to have taught him something about defense

To be fair, his QB has been hurt most of the year and they've been installing a new offense.

I fully agree about not enough experience though. Someone to keep an eye on after our next coach gets fired.

I watched them a fair amount this year. Their scheme has looked good with really poor execution by the talent. He's a really solid OC IMO.

It looked like a good scheme with poor player talent. Hasselback looked really awful at times this year, like he lost his throwing rhythm and would push the ball out. They really have very little talent wise out there, tho Lynch is doing his best to change that.

I would grant Bates an interview, tho he would be in my bottom tier.

No thanks. I think he's got a brighter future than Professor McBubbleScreen, but he's an experiment, not a solution.

In the same way one game didn't make Gregg Williams suddenly a bad co-ordinator, today didn't make Bates a good one.

Bates has been a very good offensive coordinator, what are you talking about?
