Where is the Broncos News? - The Orange Mane

It seems as though all the Broncos talk these days comes from places like this, and that the news usually done with journalists' digging is few and far between. Is there any Broncos news anymore?

Right now is a great time to gather information and deliver news. So many things are changing so quickly in Denver that there has to be some news out there. We dont know who the Broncos are considering for coaches. We dont know an official position on Tim Tebow by the organization. We dont know what free agent targets could help the Broncos. Etc, etc, etc.

I think the news will start to flow after this Wednesday when John Elway is announced as VP of Football Operations.

The media ball will get rolling once Elway is introduced. Then the media can start asking Elway questions about the team. Until then, there's nothing substantial to report. After Elway's intro, the next big story will be the new HC. Then the next big story will be the draft. However, nothing will happen until after the Broncos have their new spokesman.

Once the Elway position is made offical, hopefully he will step up to the plate and give Tebow a 100% vote of confidence and put to rest any rumors about a possible attempt to trade up to get Luck to replace him. The last thing we need is for another Cassel fiasco and Tebow in limbo about his future with the Bronco's.

I still don't get the delay until Wednesday, is this because Elway is at the Orange Bowl?

The simple fact is Broncos fans, to paraphrase the thespian genius Billy Crystal from When Harry Met Sally, when you know what future you want, you want it to happen right away! Or something.

It's not a huge delay. Elway still has to adjust to his new job, it will take the entire front office staff a little time to organize around the new structure. If Elway's first official day is today (Monday 01/03/2010) then it gives him 2.5 days to prep for his first official meeting with the press. This gives him and the front office at least a little time to get a game plan together before going to the media. Elway knows he's gonna get peppered with questions so perhaps they are trying to formulate a plan before the media wave comes rolling in.

Also, I'm betting that Elway announces that Xanders will be retained as the GM and that he, Ellis and Xanders will work on who the next HC will be. He will also be prepared to answer questions about Tebow, although I don't think he will say much concerning Tebow other than he likes Tebows enthusiasm and work effort (generic endorsements but noncommittal).

Who knows, perhaps Elway is already ironing out bringing in Harbaugh and he will announce the new coach on Wednesday. Who knows? Point being he will probably have much to say on Wednesday...
