Don't make Hillis angry. You wouldn't like him if he's angry...

Yeah I had two tabs open and accidently pasted twice in the same one - it's fixed.

From what I've gathered on the Browns situation, I see John Fox landing there as head coach with Mike McCoy as offensive coordinator

As I said in another thread, doesn't Holmgren want them to run a west coast offense? That immediately makes McCoy/Fox ineligible.

Isn't that the logical place for Gruden I mean the connection to Holmgren....or Mohrninweg I would see as a possibility also

My early "Why Not?" predictions...

Cleveland: John Fox
Cincinatti: Mike Mularkey
Denver: Jim Fassell
Oakland: Hue Jackson
Dallas: Jason Garrett
Minnesota: Leslie Frazier
Carolina: Perry Fewell
San Francisco: Brian Billick

I think Bud Adams holds on to Jeff Fisher and Jim Harbaugh stays in college (either at Stanford or Michigan).

We're not hiring Fassell. He's not even being seriously considered.

I agree.... he's like "Troy Calhoun" or "Dave Logan to CU" every year

I think we're ok. Look at the facts: No one is reporting he's even on the long list of candidates anywhere. No one in the NFL will touch the guy for whatever reason. Neither he nor his agent have even bothered drumming up fake interest (like Sundquist did with that bogus report the Niners were interested in him). The FO has been doing this for several weeks and if there were even a fart that he was being considered, we would have heard about it by now.

Is there a deadline for when we'll know if the Raiders are keeping Cable or not? Like does he have an option left on his contract, or is his contract officially up as of yesterday?

Please no Fassel.

Even if he were on the radar wouldn't he want to be paid more than Bowlen would like to now that he is paying 3 guys for 1 job?

I hope so Chris, while I don't think he'd be a train wreck - he doesn't inspire much excitement either.

The teams that fire the HC immediately are the teams that have a replacement HC on speed dial. Too bad about the Rooney rule, all it does is make a farce of the interview process.

That's a great point. He wouldn't be as horrible as some other options, but he wouldn't be that great, either.

My guess is if the rumors about Harbaugh are true and we do not land him, Studes will be seriously considered. Seems like it would be a much smoother transition if they keep a familiar face and familiar system and build a structured FO around that.
