Default We will be Doooooooooooomed in 2011

How much of an impact does he make on this team well....

we went from 10th in sacks to 32nd in sacks.

Only 18 sacks the whole year compared to 39 last year.....Doom's presence accounts for about 6 wins easily hes that good. CANT WAIT FOR DOOM TO RETURN NEXT YEAR.

Happy New Years OM

He will certainly have an impact on the defense. How much will depend on the defensive scheme and how he comes back from the injury. I'll be stoked to see him out there again. Hopefully, as OLB in the 34.

I got a feeling we are going to have one of the best pass rushes next year this is why we must go after Patrick Peterson and resign Champ Bailey.

How many sacks did he have in '08? You can't expect '09 production but he'll have more than the 5 Mario Hagan has this year to lead the team.

If defensive line isn't he major focus of the overhaul, I'll never buy the team off of Bowlen.

Different scheme in 2008 and the team really set him up to fail in 2008.

we would be dumb to go back to a 4-3 even tho I think he could dominant in any scheme hes just a tough guy to block he gets off the ball way too quick for most tackles.

Not many. That was the year of Bob Slowick and the ten yard cushion.

If we land the 2nd pick, Doom will take a back seat as the Broncos "other" pass rusher because D'Quan Bowers is gonna be an absolute monster.

I guess you didn't watch the game Bowers didn't look that great to me, Bowers is a good player I just think hes been getting over hyped and we would be dumb to take Bowers over Peterson......

Assuming we switch to a 4-3, otherwise he wouldn't be on our radar.

Bowers really doesn't fit what we need either way, if we switch to a 4-3 Ayers would be a great DE there.

We can't pass on Peterson. It be like passing on Suh if he was available. Guys like Peterson are guys that don't come around much.

I just saw where John Fox is getting the ax in Carolina.

Wouldn't it be cool to get a solid GM, Fox as DC, an OC who can work with Tebow, a low cost HC who has made a couple stops in his career at different (successful) franchises and have a solid Defensive draft?!

Sure he is. If we go to a 4-3, Bowers becomes an absolute top tier prospect for us to add to our defensive line. I'm as large of an advocate of Peterson as anybody on these boards, but if we switch schemes, Bowers becomes just as valuable to us as Peterson. He is a phenomenal pass-rusher and player. Just because you think Ayers would be a *great* DE for us, doesn't mean he will be. Bowers is a better player than Ayers, especially at getting after the passer.

Guys like Bowers don't come around much either as well. You should watch some more Clemson Tiger games.

Ive watched plenty of Bowers hes a good player but he lacks that elite first step to warrant a top 5 pick.

Yes on the solid GM. No thanks on Fox as DC as that would probably mean we would be switching back to a 4-3. I've wanted to move to a 3-4 for years. We're not close to have a top defense regardless of whether it is 3-4 or 4-3 but I don't think we're a better fit for the 4-3 with the current team. I'd rather have us build on the 3-4.

I could care less about the scheme than having coaches who can coach up their talent and who could supply experience to a young HC.

I do think we would neuter Doom by going back to the 4-3 but if that also meant a good Defensive draft and the move that would be a better fit for our other 2 LB's then I am all for it.

If we stick with the 3-4 then bring in a 3-4 guru but if we can't get a guy like Wade then I am cool with moving back to a 4-3.

I didn't see the game today but I saw enough ACC games to know I wouldnt want any other player in the draft including Luck.Of all fanbases we should have learned our lesson to finally value the front seven before the secondary. Bowers, Doom, Ayers, Haggan and Hunter would be a decent group with DJ, Mays, a newcomer and maybe Larsen back inside.

I want Fairley or Dareus...they can both play the 5 technique or if we go to the 4-3, they can play inside. Bowers is good...and alot of folks including Kiper have him listed at the #2 overall talent in this draft to Luck. But, I just don't see the agressiveness. I watched that Bowl Game and he disapeared.

We better hope Doom's shoulder/arm is 100%

He needs those long arms to make his moves.

Not worried there, that pec injury is usually a solid heal with no residual deficit to speak of.

The Chargers will come in here tomorrow and roll over. Denver won't pick any higher than 5th and won't get either Bowers or Peterson.

Doom is our stud, we have to stick with the 3-4.

This is completely backwards. They need pass rush more than they need DBs. Trying to get by with Doom alone is a bad idea.
