Default Elway’s To Do List:

In this order:

1) Empower Brian Xanders as the GM

2) Hire Ron Rivera as Head Coach/D Coordinator

3) Hire Jim Fassell as Offensive Coordinator/QB coach

4) Switch back to predominately a 4-3 defense – trade Kyle Orton to Washington for Albert Haynesworth and 2012 4th round pick.

5) Resign Champ Bailey – cut fat (Dawkins, Ryan Harris, etc.)

6) Trade back in the draft – preferably to No. 19-25; accumulate picks for this 2011 & 2012

7) Draft Mike Pouncey, G, FL

8) Draft Allen Bailey, DE/DT, Miami

9) Draft Dante Williams, FS, North Carolina

10) Draft Jared Crick, DE/DT, Nebraska

Championship!

Fassell said that he has been offered coordinator jobs in the NFL a few times in the past few years and he isn't interested in being anything other than a HC.

As much as I'd love to try a D minded HC our history is hiring O HC's so I'm not expecting it to change.

4) Switch back to predominately a 4-3 defense – trade Kyle Orton to Washington for Albert Haynesworth and 2012 4th round pick. also look at the top defenses out there, you'll notice about all of them play a 3-4 defense. we just gotta stay commited so that the players have some consistencey.

no interest in moving back to a 4-3. Denvers defense is more effective in a 3-4, our defense would've been alot better had doom not got hurt. also Hayneworth is too big a head case.

this team continuously drafts 2nd tier players every yr as a result of trading down or cuz of record & have gotten us nowhere. stick with our #2 or drop down no lower than #6.

Lmao at anyone who thinks Haynesworth is the solution to anything. He is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with pro football.

OK I'm kidding but I just hope John's really ready to roll up his sleeves and go to WORK and work with those Bowlen can surround him with other than the remaining 2 stooges still lurking in the front office from the original unholy trinity. If he's having something to do with the coaching selection and he's making decisions for Bowlen in some areas now would that surprise us or not? Is he ready to be doing what he's going to be doing? Who knows...since it's unclear what he's doing?

Feed, water, and diaper change Bowlen will probably be a more realistic plan.

my to do list would be to think outside the box & raid the steelers defensive coaching staff for a DC. I don't care what anybody says,LeBaeu is one of the best coaches out there. someone that comes from his staff, that has learned from him is probably going to be better than who we got.

Depending on the game this week...I kinda like Stud to get a shot at coaching. We need a new special teams coach but I don't think we have a bad coaching staff.

No and no. (yes resign Champ, keep Dawk. Replace Harris with who? A rookie protecting Tebow's blindside?? Trade orton, no to Haynesworth) The rest seems pretty good.

Profootballtalk today is reporting that if Xanders stays, it will be as a cap expert, not as GM.

He is coaching in the UFL right now for christsakes. His last NFL job was a coordinator. However the real in is his relationship with John Elway. I think if he is given latitude and say in the direction of the offensive team, Elway can get him back in the NFL. Most importantly, Fassel is the best coach for Tebow’s OJT. I would say hire him as the HC but I don't think Rivera is attainable then. Rivera is a stud, I think the best coaching option out there right now.

Why no to Haynesworth? With his contract with DC, we could get him for pennies on the dollar. He is a talented player who when motivated - like he was @ Tenn - can dominate the game. He will be hungry to show his doubters and would be cheap to the Broncos. It would upgrade the DL instantly. Why no?
