Default Worst officiating decision I've ever seen

I just saw this on ESPN and I still can't believe it.

http://www.kansascity.com/2010/12/30...k=omni_popular

What an incredible black eye on the officiating crew of this game, at of all places, YANKEE STADIUM, where Kansas State got absolutely robbed of a chance at a bowl victory by what has to be the worst officiating decision I've ever seen in a football game.

This wasn't just bad for how horrible the decision was, but bad for the timing this guy chose to make an issue of nothing more than a salute...yes, just like the one TD, Mike Anderson and Clinton Portis made famous in Denver. That's now considered "excessive celebration" according to this incompetent turd...right? Well, perhaps, or perhaps it's the NCAA rule itself, which if you listened carefully on the video you hear the announcer talking about it as anything done to bring attention to the player. Huh? Let me get this straight, ANYTHING done following a great play in a football game that brings attention to the guy who performed that play is now considered worthy of a 15 yard penalty? Who thinks of this ****? Are you kidding me? What's wrong with the suits who control both the college game and also their corresponding brethren in the NFL that they want to suck every last ounce of the ****ing fun out of these games for the people who buy their damn tickets?

Badk on point... The NCAA should have a gambling investigation launched on the sly to find out if this dude's into the mob for money or suddenly living a lavish lifestyle. I can't see any other explanation other than personal bias for this. Anyone disagree? How are you going to make this call, at this juncture of a bowl game? I'm not a K-State fan and could care less about most of college football anyway now that it's obvious what the dollar has done to the game but this really sucks for a bunch of players who deserved better. We've already found out that corruption has gotten into the NBA officials at a level nobody imagined, so why would anyone doubt the same thing could be taking place in the college games as well? When you make yourself about the allmighty dollar and ONLY the allmighty dollar, don't be surpirsed if some ugly people show up wanting a piece of your action...ya dig amigos? I'm not saying this guy was in someone's pocket, because I have no idea, but would it surpirse anyone now to discover something like that in the college game?

Just proves the point that the refs think the game is about them. That is sad and you punished kids for something completely harmless.

The Big 10 refs have been doing **** like this all year, all in their effort to bring that conference's football back to the 1920s.

Watch the Music City Bowl for the full circle hilarity. Stay for the epic karmic biatchslapping of Backtat Bray.

Big Ten refs suck. That was a bullsh*t call. I've seen much worse this bowl season and there were no flags. It's one thing if a guy is clearly taunting on his way to the end zone, but not for this. OSU was flagged a couple of times during the Michigan game for putting their gloves together and making an O. Oregon does it, no flag. Alabama does it (makes the A), no flag. The other night, Blackmon (sp?) runs along the goal line and goes in at the last second (to me that appeared to be taunting) and you guessed it, no flag. BS RULE and the B10 officials are the worst.

Tyler Bray was saluting and throat slashing all night, and the Big Ten crew didn't call it once.

I agree that the refs shouldn't inject themselves in a game.

But how hard is it to get the message, players? Don't do it. Don't do dances, gestures, or shenanigans. Act like you've been there before.

When I played football, we weren't allowed to spike the football. If you spiked the football, the touchdown didn't count. Guess what? Nobody spiked the football.

Mark Emmert has a base salary of $650,000. He's the President of the NCAA.

Bill Snyder has an annual compensation of $1.85 million from the state of Kansas (base contract is $250,000 per year).

Doug Marrone makes $1.1 million each year from the state of New York.

And here are the public employees who are on the competition and rules committee for the NCAA:
Barry Alvarez, AD, Wisconsin, $750,000 base salary
Randy Edsall, Head Coach, Connecticut, $1.45 million
Kevin Higgins, Head Coach, The Citadel, $200,000
Tony Samuel, Head Coach, Southeast Missouri, $98,800
Ken Beazer, Athletic Director, Southern Utah, $97,603

I'll bet that each and every one of these highly paid gentlemen has a college diploma. In fact, I'll bet they wouldn't have these jobs without said diploma.
