Couldn't agree more with what he says, Kubiak is not head coach material. Hopefully the game here against Houston convinced our FO of that.

They'll look at him, but I have trouble believing they'll pick someone with a losing record and no experience rebuilding a team.

I would take Kubes as OC under someone like Rivera as HC.

ooooo I do, not that I think he is qualified, but b/c of the Elway factor, I can totally see him coming back here.

I hope I'm wrong, I just don't see the (lord help me I'm quoting McDaniels) toughness of his teams.

i think people are overblowing the elway effect. hes not going to bring in a bunch of buddies to run the team, he will do what it takes to win.

He couldn't beat us with a 17 point lead at the half. Tebow or not, that tells you all you need to know.

from rotoworld.com

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle now predicts that Gary Kubiak will be back as Texans head coach in 2011.

McClain, as clued in to his team as beat writers get, expected the firing immediately after Houston's Week 16 loss to Denver. McClain now believes owner Bob McNair will confirm Kubiak's return next Monday, potentially after a Week 17 win over David Garrard-less Jacksonville. McClain notes that McNair "loves Kubiak," and "believes he will win." If Kubiak returns, it would take another potential Broncos coaching candidate off the table. Kubiak would almost certainly have to overhaul his entire defensive staff.

! Dude, Kubiak has been a part of this organization since 1983. He was drafted with John Elway, and became valuable part of the organization, going to several Superbowls, and winning two of them with the Broncos as a coach. Can you imagine the relationship that he and Elway has? Think about it.

Maybe Kubiak is hired. Maybe he's no. But to say you don't see any possibility... C'mon.

I mean, the fact that our organization is in total disarray and it wouldn't surprise me that they'd make another terrible decision makes it possible, but I think most sane owners wouldn't hire Kubiak.

It would never work. Any head coach who has Kubiak as an OC would be on a constant hot seat. It would be a huge distraction that would flare up its head at the worst possible times. If Kubiak returns to this team, it should be as a head coach or nothing.

I think that Kubes would fit seamlessly into Denver. He was unable to build a defense in Houston and we have no defense here, so he could just plug in all his skills right away.

I really hope the FO realizes that Kubes is not the answer.....we need someone defensive minded.....I would love Ron Rivera....hard nosed (not like singletary) but understands what it takes to win with a solid OC and it would be a huge upgrade to Kubes....I think he is a great OC but HC he is not

The only way it could work is with a defensive coach who is willing to basically hand the offense over to Kubes, and assuming Kubes resigns himself to being a coordinator, a la Dick LeBeau.

I still would love to get Ron Rivera as our HC if we can find a great OC to develop Tebow. No idea who that might be at this point though.

I wouldn't particularly mind it. There aren't particularly a large a volume of HC candidates I'm excited about.

I could go with Kubiak. I could go with Gruden. I could go with Rivera.

I could accept Harbaugh, but would be very skeptical of this expirement, and wouldn't be too thrilled about it.

In any of these cases, I think the head coach will be less important than who we hire as our offensive and defensive coordinators. Obviously the top guy sets the tone, but the coordinators are where the rubber meets the road.

For my part, I love the idea of hiring Kubiak, and then bringing in an Urban Meyer disciple to be the offensive coordinator. If you can't get Urban Meyer himself, go after Dan Mullen. If you can't get him, start interviewing off the Meyer family tree.

I don't know who we'll bring in at defensive coordinator. It's such a mess there that I'd prefer someone with a 4-3 pedigree because I believe we'd be able to build a competent 4-3 much quicker than we'll be able to build a 3-4. #-4 are gimmicky and are going to be harder and harder to build in a league that seems to be moving to them. There's always going to be a place in this league for a stout front four that can plug holes AND get to the quarterback.

I want a defensive coordinator who believes in building a defense from the line out, and uses a defense that puts preference on the defensive linemen up front, not the linebackers. More than that, I want a front office that staffs the defense in this way.

Kubiak and Wade in Houston could turn that team around in a heartbeat. Wade, if left to just worrying about defense, could do wonders with that lineup.
