I had my son spend the night for Christmas eve since he has to be home in the morning.
Woke up this morning in major pain and went to the emergency. Spent all day there, 5 mm kidney stone to pass now. Son had to go home, missed all day with him and his gifts. And the worst my yet to come, hope everyone has a good weekend. |

Sorry to hear it. I was going to post "this too, shall pass" but thought better of it.
You've got this -- it's memorable. |

I've probably had 60-70 kidney stones since 1995.
The first one you get, you think you're dying. I was in the middle of Wyoming when I got my first one and thought I was done for. I went to some clinic in the middle of nowhere where some hippie doc told me 'he was giving me the good stuff' and gave me an IV of Demerol or Dilaudid and he was right. They are still painful, but it helps when you know what they are. I've only had to have lithotripsy once and have only been to the ER for them half a dozen times, as I usually prefer to gut them out at home. The worst was a 10mm stone. I was scheduled to have them go up with some instrument through my cock to remove it and a few days before I was to have that done, I somehow broke it up enough to piss it out. It got stuck in my cock on the way out and I had to drive back from Cleveland and it was a 2.5 hour drive where it felt like I had a sand burr in my penis and it was tough to sit down. I finally passed the stone and took it in to my Urologist who had never seen a stone passed that big on its own. Percocets help to take the edge off the pain. Get it from the ureter into the bladder and you will be ok and the worst will be over. Drink lots of water and see if they will give you a script for Flomax, which will help relax the ureter and increase urine flow. Last edited by SouthStndJunkie; 12-24-2010 at 09:36 PM.. |

I passed a couple about 10 years ago. I didnt have health insurance, so I didnt bother going to the hospital. Its a religious experience and I finally passed out after hours of extreme discomfort. The good news is that when its finally over, you feel so f-in good just cuz you arent in pain.

Forgot to mention in the first post... some of its hereditary, and some of its diet related. I think after this you will be HIGHLY motivated to not repeat it and alter your diet.

Worst. Thread. Ever.
PosterX: "Oh, I was on a train from Moscow to Madrid riding on a bed of nails when it hit. It felt like someone jamming an icepick in my genitalia. I couldnt make the pain cease, so I asked the guy in my section who had a full piercing kit to pierce every sensitive part of my body over and over again until we got somewhere that I could get some pain meds. So I ended up with 35 nipple rings on each nipple (including my third nipple...and the mutant fourth nipple...and its little brother "halfsy"). You dont even want to know what else was pierced. So, this guy walks in and says he's a holistic practitioner, so I'm like...do your thing bro. So he reaches in his bag and pulls out what look like a foot-long set of needly tweezers. In they go. After about 12 hours of jabbing, the guy finally gives up. Then, about 15 minutes from Madrid, I felt an overwhelming urge to pee and I passed it." I had them stick the camera up my thing at the urologist before. Is it more painful than that?

Sorry to hear about this man, I hope you and yours enjoyed the holidays even with your stones.
I've always wondered if I will get kidney stones somewhere down the road since I have a kidney disease, I certainly hope not. I think most people, regardless, at some point in time do pass one or two. |
