With all the uncertainly that going on I decide to attempt a mock with idea that the next HC will keep the 3 /4 defense and won’t completely tear up the offense. Other assumptions, Denver gets the 2nd or 3rd pick overall, Luck will not come out or will be selected number 1 overall. Champ does not resign and ends up in Dallas or back in DC.
Used NFLDraftscout for rounds and Footballfutures/KFFL for FA. Trades Orton to Arizona for 4th and future 3rd. I know not enough value for some, but I am playing conservative with trades. Resigns Ryan Harris – When healthy he is good, not great RT Lloyd – our best WR this season. Cut Jamal Williams – he is showing his age and I expect a rapid decline next season. It better to cut him earlier then to late. Goodman – another old corner back that showing his age, and he isn’t worth the cap room. Dawkins – great player that to old for rebuilding team. Nate Jones Free Agents Paul Soliai, MIA - Big NT that will be vet presence until the draft choices are ready for the role. Tom Zbikowski- S A physical player that bring a little punch to the back end of this defense. Johnathan Joseph, Corner. Mike Brown is cheap and I think Joseph is going to hit the market, he a very good corner back that adds young veteran presence that knows how to play. Mike Tolbert, SD - need running back to go with Moreno and Tolbert shown he has physical style that would help in 1-2 punch. Draft 1. Patrick Peterson (CB) LSU - a complete player that has very special talent. His ability to play all over the secondary and dominate opposing wide receiver makes him a special player that improves the talent in back seven 2a. Christian Ballard, (DE) –Iowa, his teammate Clayborn get all the attention, but Ballard is little bit more nasty and has shown the ability to hold the POA, which is critical for a DE in 3/4 . He has the size 6-4 298 to be a solid DE in our scheme and helps improve the play for outside Line backers. 2b. Phil Taylor (NT) Baylor. Taylor isn’t getting the attention that Powe of old Miss is, but far better prospect at NT. He is criticized for not being able to get to the QB, but that not what you need NT to do. He strength is occupying interior linemen and forcing them to double team him, which he done all year. At 340 and 6’4 he’s a big body that you can plug in and clog up the middle. 3. Brooks Reed (OLD/DE) Arizona. What this year showed us that we don’t have a lot of depth at the OLB position, especial one that can go get the QB. The “ice-man” is physical freak that knows how to go get the QB, and can play the run. The key to any 3 / 4 is good outside LBs and Reed can be a steal for this team. 4- Giving to NE for worthless Running back 4. (trade for Orton) Casey Mattews (MLB) Oregon - Kid is extremely underrated and he just keep improving. At worse he improves the Special teams at best he’s our MLB of future. Plays extremely fast and bring a nastiness that missing on this team. 5. Another worthless trade 6. Weslye Saunders TE – SC. Character concern drop him, but he is a gifted catching TE and knows how to run routes. 7. Mark LeGree, FS. App State. Div I-AA safety that has talent but needs time to develop for the pro game. Brought in as Special Teamer and hopefully develops into some more. Last edited by elsid13; 12-21-2010 at 11:36 AM.. |

No way Orton could net a 4th and a future 3

Pretty darn solid, I'm just not sure what our exact picks are.

There aren't any real speed backs in FA, unless Sproles escapes SD which I doubt. And as much as I would like a home run hitter, I wouldn't sacrifices defense front seven for Devine (WVU) in the third or fourth.

Wow, that is absolutely well thought out. I tend to agree that Orton is not worth that to anyone though as well. Nice work and rep for doing it!

Time to change your adopt-a-bronco Med
![]() Agree with the rest on the thought and effort, well done--that is a draft I could happily live with. The thought of Champ in another uniform makes me very sad. |

This would be a great off-season. I wouldn't re-sign Ryan Harris though, he's mediocre at best and I have seen enough outright missed blocks this year that I'm ready to cut bait.
Patrick Peterson should absolutely he the pick if he is available. If not I'd opt for Marcell Dareus DE/DT from Alabama. In the second round I like Dontay Moch - DE/OLB from Nevada ![]() |

Some team might give a 4th for Orton -- just to get a backup QB.

Re-sign Lloyd why? He's under contract until 2012.
I would make it priority 1 to resign Champ, then draft Peterson as well. |
