I will always remember how broken he was after a loss. The man truly lived and died for Cubs games. RIP.

He had Type 1 diabetes.

Saw him hit a grand slam at Wrigley, 70 or 71 ... first pro game of any kind I attended.

RIP Ron

Making it to 70 with type 1 is damned impressive.

RIP Ron,

It was always entertaining to listen to Santo and Hughes on the radio, not for all the right reasons but the guy loved the Cubs and Baseball. I hope where ever he is he is clicking his heel's again.

and in English, what are you trying to say?

When you wanted a homer, he was one of the best.

In all major four professional sport HOFs, there isn't a bigger snub than Santo. Santo was one of the top 5-7 third basemen of all-time and the voters could never come to the realization that he was deserving.

What a shame that National Baseball HOF couldn't get Santo in before he passed away.

I was never a Cubs fan, but I was a fan of his. A great 3rd Baseman.
