I'm thinking Steve Johnson might be on to something here. I think God might be punishing us for not playing Tebow
Steve Johnson, Buffalo Bills wideout, blames God on Twitter after dropping game-winning pass. It wasn't his own hands or the Pittsburgh secondary Sunday that foiled Buffalo Bills wide receiver Steve Johnson from hauling in what should have been the game-winning TD catch in the end zone. It was God. "I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!!" the 24-year-old tweeted from his iPad at around 5:15 Sunday after the Steelers' 19-16 overtime victory. "AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS? HOW?!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO..." Johnson had a perfect pass in his hands that would have given his team an overtime victory over the heavily favored Steelers. Instead of walking off the field the hero, however, he dropped it. Devastated, the 24-year-old watched in horror as the Steelers drove back down the field for the game-winning field goal. While he seemed to hold it together on the sidelines, after the game, he later addressed the one person he found to blame on Twitter: God. Johnson had seven catches for 68 receiving yards in the loss, but dropped at least three passes on the day. It was a stark change for the Kentucky grad who had grabbed three touchdowns in his team's 49-31 win over Cincinnati last week. But perhaps it was God punishing him for having too much pride in that game? The NFL fined him after that game for his touchdown celebration after he pulled up his jersey to reveal a t-shirt that said "Why so serious?", which was meant as a jab at Bengals wide receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco. "I had the game in my hands and I dropped it," Johnson reporters after Sunday's game. "Humbled. Humbled. "I'll never get over it. Ever." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/fo...ng_gamewi.html |

And dude you were 2-7!!! It's not like that game would have mattered, and you blame him for that drop and not the 7 other drops you had? Or for the 3 TD reception game you had last week? Or to a starting WR in the freakin NFL making millions? Or to even be able wake up in the morning? Man grow up dude!!

Doesnt God kinda skip over Buffalo anyways? I think Steve is on his own and he made the least of it by breaking the hearts of his teammates and the fans.

Well it make sense, if you praise god and thank him for making catches you are taking away from your own skill etc. So if you drop a pass, well that's gods fault too because he helped you catch all of the other passes.
Wow. Religion is going to be the downfall of us all. |

I can just imagine god, sitting up there in Valhalla, or wherever, worrying about whether or not some dumb **** catches a pass.

Ben Rapeistburger is the Anti-Christ so can't his evil powers trump Gods powers every now and then? I mean if God were perfect there would be no evil at all in his creation right?

You're right. Its the same thing addressed for thousands of years by the most brilliant people ever to exist. Its the same thing that caused Lewis to write the books "A Grief Observed" and "The Problem of Pain" after his wife died of cancer. I look at it from a naturalistic angle. Nowhere in the known world is there an experience of life without loss. Only a small percentage of offspring survive. Organisms in most places, when defeated, are eaten. Anyone who has had animals who grew up together knows that they experience loss too when their mates pass on. Its an experience common to everything in existence. Loss is part of our world, and its inescapable for everything that exists. It may feel personal when it happens, but its a universal occurrence. Molecules flit in and out of existence. Here today, gone tomorrow. |
