Bowlen, in a telephone interview on Monday night, was asked if coach Josh McDaniels will be fired at any point during this season.

"I am not interested in making a change," Bowlen said.

OK, what about the 2011 season? Will McDaniels be back for it?

"Yes he will," Bowlen said. "I am not interested in making a coaching change."

Maybe mCd has more on video than just pre-game walkthrough's? Maybe some post game scotch fueled orgy's?

Good for Bowlen if this is true...If you thought high enough of someone to hire him as an NFL HC...Give him the 3 years.

No play-off wins after 3 years...Can him then.

How about listening to the man... I think he knows a sh iat load more than any of you ever will about team operations. Maybe this will stop the endless (insert next coach) name here threads.

Read the entire thing there's more juicy stuff towards the bottom.

Quote:
"I am confident if he doesn't have the right people around him, that he should change coaches,'' Bowlen said. "It is something I have always left up to my coach. But I always reserve the right to make that change. I have done it on an isolated basis. It rarely happens. He picks the coaches. But, absolutely, I have the right to make those changes."

That's cool.....I can go with that. Make some staff changes and give him one more chance with Dumervil and Ayers healthy to see what this team can do at full strength (and the rookie OL and WR with a year under their belts). He's gotta make the postseason in 2011, though, no ifs ands or buts.

Bring a in personnel guy before we piss away a top 10 pick if Bowlen's really going to keep him around.

Pat's never seen anything like this go on during his time.

I'm not sure even he knows how to react.

I think his tune changes if we're 3-11 heading into 2 meaningless home games at the end of the season, but we'll see.

Well this is a positive on one major area. McD has been released to play for next season. Since this season is a wash you can see what you have in the youth and see if they will show signs that they are contributors.

I know many people want McD gone but at least he has the freedom to test for next year.

“I’m very happy with Josh,” Bowlen added. “Josh is doing a good job. I wish he had a few more wins, but we’ve got five games to go. I’ve got 27 years in this business. The ball bounces funny and it doesn’t always bounce your way. We’ve had bad breaks, injuries. I’ve been around football long enough to know this happens and it’s a part of the game. We’ve still got a chance to make the playoffs. People have been in a position like ours and it’s been done before.”
