sounds to me like he's chomping at the bit to move on to greener pastures after this season.

His greener pastures will be the back 40 sooner than later. No, Im not saying he is done as a player but is he looking for a winner before he retires?

i think so. he's got enough money. he's put up the kind of numbers to get serious HOF consideration. now it's about getting a ring. there are a few legit playoff contenders that could use him if next year isn't locked out.

I love Champ as a Bronco but, I'd love him to win a ring

He's obviously frustrated, and I don't blame him. As Denver has been a revolving door for Defensive Coordinators and a lot of dramatic offseasons have occured since the 2005 AFC Championship game. That will take its toll on a lot of players.

I believe Champ has one foot out the door, but he also isn't in a hurry to get out of Denver. He will be a professional about it and we will see what Denver has planned for the offseason.

Champ is incredibly professional. He gave me my greatest Bronco memory, and made it last for a good few minutes when he picked off Brady.

I would tell champ if he signs a team friendly deal we will trade him for a fair pick to teams on a list he chooses.

No reason for him to stick around. If we could get a high 2nd round pick that would be fair IMO. Get as many picks as we can and start hitting DT, DE, Ilb until we find a couple stars.

Champ has been an incredible player for us but his time as a Bronco is done. Its time for him to go get that championship ring while he's still at his best, while we continue the rebuilding process.

I'll enjoy these last 5 games watching #24 suit up for the Broncos.

its been a pleasure.

Why would he do that? He doesn't owe us anything. And when has a sign and trade ever happened in the NFL before?

And why in the hell would he put his future in our hands when he doesn't have to and when we have already lied to him by pulling the new deal off the table?

Meh, I don't feel bad for players like Champ. It's nothing but a business and he's made his money.

He wasnt a fan during the superbowl years. I think he was a hooligan back in Ireland in the late 90s.

Well in exchange for us not tagging him. No team will give a first and 3rd and we can just pay him on a one yr deal. I doubt we just let him walk. You do realize he will be tagged right? I sort of thought that was understood so I didn't put that in the post.

So I guess I should have said tag him and if he is willing to sign a fair deal a team may sign him. I think we could agree to take less then a first and 3rd etc etc. We do have some things we could do to try and get something for champ.

When he first got here, he also ran a sub 4.4 40 and could lock down any receiver in the league one-on-one. Just saying.

If I was him I would move on. Wants a SB ring more than anything. Sign with a contender as we are obviously not that.

Bowlen didn't want to pay champ reduced saftey money, so he sure as hell isn't gonna pay him tag corner money.

Oh No You didan't!

He has lost a step and a half, he at times gets pushed around by bigger wideouts. But there are times when he makes a Bailey play and you have to say "Wow!"

Sounds like the talent level on this team is about to take another step backward.

nobody will pay him tag corner money. i'd prefer to see him stay one more year in denver but am not married to him. it'd be a pity to get nothing for him, but we've got bigger issues than losing an aging corner, IMO.

I'm okay with losing Champ. I haven't forgotten that he's the guy who really pushed for Slowick to be the DC. I like his talent and still think he can be part of a great D, but I don't want him complaining and forcing changes.

Yup and just what are we seeing more of these days...that's the real question.

You couple that answer with his obivously growing frustration and he's as good as gone.
