Griese was the best QB in the game...until the play broke down.

Hmm, a lot like the current QB...

I was done with Griese when he basically handed that Dolphins defender the ball and it went for a TD.

(2001, I think?)

It's funny now looking back, I was rooting for Griese to be our QB instead of Brister who I believe was the current starting QB then.
I remember having some pretty good debates with a lady at work. She was a huge Brister fan, and I wanted Griese tto be the man...

I kind of liked Griese. He stood tall in the pocket and threw a pretty long ball, but the guy lacked some atleticism in some ways that didn't pan out well when everything was said and done...

I wasn't here when this debate spider is mentioning took place here.
It'll be nice if somebody has the time to bump one of those threads up

I don't think the mCd era will be long enough to rival the Griese era.

Griese v. Brister and Cutler v. Plummer had a clear 2nd option.

McDaniels vs... ? Kubiak? Parcells? Cowher? There is no candidate for us anti-mcdaniels to rally around.

Brian Griese...

Tough to be the guy that follows THE guy. His arm left alot to be desired. I loved his toughness and his intelligence. His athletic ability...ehh. I still have a Brian Griese jersey.

It actually makes me a little sad to remember the 1999-2001 seasons. What could have been...

Plenty of good players have lost careers due to injury. I rank Griese among them. He was a good QB until he shredded his shoulder - after that he didn't have the mustard to throw downfield and even his medium range passes were floaters that were too easily picked off.

I blame Shanny with sticking with him for a little too long instead of looking elsewhere.

The S.O.B. Days were more fun. Unfortunately most of the posters from then are gone now. The McD debate is driven largely by trolling instead of any kind of reason.

I became a Broncos fan at the beginning of the 2003 season.

So I missed the Grease debate. From the sounds of it, it must have been epic.
