29
Last Week: 27 Denver Broncos (2-6) The Broncos are in disarray after losing to the 49ers, and they still have to play five of their six division games in the second half of the season. Josh McDaniels' job might be safe for now, but it's certainly not enjoyable. 30 Last Week: 30 Carolina Panthers (1-6) Watching the Panthers lose to the Rams in the Edwards Jones Dome last Sunday, I couldn't help but think of maybe Carolina's most memorable win ever, that 29-23 double overtime classic in the NFC playoffs in January 2004. I covered that game, which doubled as Steve Smith's personal showcase, and it probably seems a million years ago for both Smith and Panthers fans. 31 Last Week: 31 Buffalo Bills (0-7) I'm getting the Bills out of our bottom spot because they have battled their butts off in taking both the Ravens and Chiefs into overtime on the road the past two weeks. Ultimately losing teams find a way to lose games they could or should win, but you can't watch Buffalo play and question the effort it gives. 32 Last Week: 29 Dallas Cowboys (1-6) On the flip side, you can question everything about the 2010 Cowboys. Their effort. Their mental toughness. Their willingness to do more than just pick up a paycheck and fill out a uniform. If Dallas does nothing but goes through the motions for the rest of the season, like it did last week at home against Jacksonville, this will be far more galling to owner Jerry Jones than his hopeless 1-15 debut season of 1989. I think we need a playoff and the top two go to the toilet bowl.

I'm not ready to can McD's yet. Here is my reason
1. I think present talent on this team is lacking esp DE NT ILB S OL so I can't for sure say if its coaching alone that's the issue. I think 95% of coaches would struggle to win consistantly with those glaring holes. Note: I would have listed QB but, the great white hope deserves a shot What I'd like to see from McD's in offseason 1. I think he should hire more experienced asst coaches (esp OL) to help with his learning curve 2. Focus on DL OL ILB upgrades |

Wait, we've got Moreno ![]() Then on the 2010 draft. Wait, we've got a QB and a WR!!! So I can see how the head coach shouldn't be blamed for it, right? I see what yoiu did there... Last edited by strafen; 11-03-2010 at 02:11 PM.. |

I agree with your points I'm not saying he doesn't deserve blame because he sure does. I don't fault him for drafting DMT after trading BM. I do disagree with McD's on Moreno pick and thought we had too many holes to draft a project like Tebow. We are where we are now though its up to FO to bolster our weaknesses. |

I'd rank us 43rd right now, behind a number of second team units in the league. Most of what was said about Dallas is applicable to this Broncos club. They're just picking up checks at this point. I don't know that they've ever really brought their brains to the field. We've not only been consistently bad performers but piss poor mentally. So yeah, the Bills are better than our club and probably win. Dallas though...I think we could compete with Double J's club. I rank they 46th in my system....maybe 44th. Whatever, it's all polishing the turd at this point.
