Default thrown?

just reflecting on witnessing my first live bronco lost 2-1 now. Im not trying to post a negative thread with this but was sundays loss down to the players "influencing" the game on purpose because Mc D has lost the team?
when orton fumbled from where i was sat he didnt look like he was protecting the ball with his life,so to speak? the missed PAT just looked like it was done on purpose? every punt looked goofed on purpose and Prater doesnt miss on PAT's ?
like i say not wanting this to be a negative thread but just asking? am i reading it wrong?

I doubt it. The players aren't going to risk never playing again after every team sees them doing this stuff. This is a result of horrible coaching. The players are not disciplined and they are not the smart players that McDaniels preached about bringing in. I guarantee you that they are still trying to be good.

Sweet mother of God. This is stupid, and borderline insane, for many reasons. But if a quarterback wanted to throw a game, he wouldn't do something as obvious as fumbling. All he would have to do is not make completion on third down. And why in the name of Christ would a kicker throw a pat? How about not scoring the td in the first place?

I think you need to check yourself into a residential facility for extensive testing, pharmacological therapy, and potentially shock treatment.

The PAT was a shank, nothing more.

After last week's ass-kicking the team lacks confidence. The best way to get it back would be to kick the crap out of the Chiefs in two weeks. If they pull another stumbling, bumbling, fumbling performance in that game, the mental issues could become terminal requiring massive upheaval to repair. The game against the Chiefs is the most crucial in McDaniel's career. There's a cancer growing in the teams' psyche. If Josh doesn't figure out a way to cure it, and quick, it will take him down with the team.

answer: since mcdaniels is getting 2011, he needs to draft the most badass D player in teh draft. i dont care what position, but a player that the entire D can rally around. as weve seen with wilson, atwater, dawkins etc, something about being a defensive player and leader is something the entire team can feed off.

IMO, the only thing that stops it is a win. They have got to beat the Chiefs. It's their 3:10 to Yuma, so to speak.

I'm not sure if I would base my plan for success on the team rallying around a rookie. He would have to be Suh-esque.

anybody who wants to see what a "thrown" game might possibly look like, just watch Superbowl III. HOF'er Bubba Smith to this day swears that the fix was in.

nobody knows for sure. but you do have a NY team involved. on paper, they were really no match for the Colts. the Colts journeyman QB had a miserable day before being benched, famously not even seeing a wide open Jimmy Orr for what would have been a sure TD on a flea flicker.

Namath was involved with mobsters in a nightclub he owned. and this is all back in the days when players took offseason jobs to make ends meet.

to throw a game, you just need to be plausibly bad enough so that each drive stalls before you score. a couple of missed big plays here and there and that could be the difference. same thing if the refs are involved. a single holding penalty to call back a TD or stall a drive late in close game can be enough to do the trick.

i'm not saying any games were fixed or are fixed. but i am saying that you can make a reasonable case that games in the 50's/60's/70's were probably at risk of being fixed if the mob saw an opportunity to make alot of money off the betting. SB III would have been the perfect "score" for them. you find a player with a gambling problem an you exploit it. that's exactly why Art Schlichter was run out of the NFL.
