Default Have you noticed Home advantage has diminished lately?

I remember reading various press articles about how the Broncos were so good at home. Now it seems that it is gone...

Consider this, Broncos have lost 4 straight games to divisional opponents at home.

1. ) Nov. 22nd, 2009 vs Chargers....32-3 loss
2. ) Dec 20th, 2009 vs Raiders...20-19 loss
3.) January 3rd , 2010 vs Chiefs...44-24 loss
4.) October 24, 2010 vs Raiders 59-14 loss

That is a combined 155-60 score @ home to divisional opponents. Three of the four being blowouts. That shouldn't be happening. Last year we were at .500 at home, this year already off to a 1-3 start. What's going on?

It's gone pretty much everywhere. Talent trumps location almost every time. The teams with the best "recent" home field advantages really don't have intimidating/loud stadiums (I'm looking at you New England). They just have the better teams.

I wouldn't think the Broncos would be subpar at home since 2006.

Ever since they lowered Denver and took away the altitude advantage we have had no Home field advantage.

It was dumb to lower Denver just to make the mountains higher.IMO.

heh...I was just about to post something about this.

Under McDaniels the Broncos home record against divisional opponents (and keep in mind that this is in the ****ty AFC West) is now 0-4 and they've been outscored 155-60 in those games.

This.

Denver is not the same football crazed town. At least not in the stadium. Also, it's hard to boo when you are drinking such a fabulous '98 cabernet.

Home field advantage has long since died in Denver. With the elevation working in our favor, it is kind of pathetic the way things have ended up the past number of years.

Aren't the denver fans a bunch of ****ing flat lining suburban whiteys? Wine and cheese, or whatever? PUSSIES.

They have a bunch of grungy looking dudes from the 90's up here in Seattle. They have a good home field advantage.

The only way the elevation works in our favor is that it's deadly to a few players on other teams. That's it.

There just isn't the fanbase they once had. Ten years of mediocrity and a city full of transplants does that to a franchise.

What has happened to the home field advantage? A lack of talent and coaching.

this stadium is not as loud and never will be. you could take the same crowd from the old stadium and put them in the new one and it wouldn't be louder.

Serious? You ever run a 5k or have 300lb guys pushing you around for 4 quarters?

Winning fixes the "loud" factor. Last week vs NYJ the stadium was pretty damn loud when you have the announcers having to shout JUST to be audible to do play by play. And the playoff game vs NE was ridiculous all game. Denver wins consistently, that part of homefield comes back.

Have to win though...

Actually, this I would disagree with. This new stadium was specifically designed to be louder, so if all other variables are the same, there is no reason to believe it would be less loud.
