Adopt-a-Bronco:
Rent-A-DC
Default On to the next one: Broncos at Titans

The Mighty Tennesee Titans, 2-1
105p ET kickoff Sunday, October 3rd
Opening line: Titans -6.5

QB: Vince Young 30-43 338 yards 3 TDs, 2 INTs 96.9 QB rating
12 rushes for 48 yards, long of 20+
RB: Chris Johnson 75 carries, 301 yards, 4TDs with a long of 76
WR: Nate Washington (10-152, 2 TDs), Justin Gage (7-113), Kenny Britt (7-67, 1 TD)
TE: Bo Scaife (8-80, 1 TD)

Def: Allows 178.5 yds/game passing (1 TD, 3 INTs, 10 sacks)
Allows 116.3 yds/game rushing (1 TD, 21 1st downs)
[Denver better than both, statistically, in both categories]

This will obviously be one of the better defenses Denver will face all year and is likely the best to this point in the season. Seattle has shown to have a solid run defense, but their secondary was atrocious. This is a well-balance defense under HC Jeff Fisher.

Let's have some fun with comparisons, shall we?

QB - Is Vince Young the worst starting QB Denver has faced so far this season? The first 3 were accurate QBs. I see Young as a game-manager-type that isn't afraid to tuck and run.

RB - Is Chris Johnson the best runn...I'll stop right there. Yes, he is. I read where he pulls a good amount of his yardage when the offense spreads out in 3-wide. The line and the LBs are going to have to be quick to the point of attack this weekend. There is some speed in Denver's secondary to aid, if need be, but I'd rather he not consistently get to the second level in the first place. They don't fool around in Tennessee. This is a running team, first and foremost.

WR - Is this the worst WR corps Denver has faced so far this season? They're not exactly intimidating, but they can make plays and catches when called upon. If we lump in the TEs with this category, I'd say they're the worst of the 4. Lewis obviously gave the Broncos fits in Jacksonville. Carlson and the Seahawks weren't anything special, but Butler and Tate did some damage. No need to mention all the white guys on the Colts. They're spoken for. The Denver secondary should do quite well against this group.

Thoughts on the Titans? I'm already tired of talking about the Colts and second-guessing 4th down calls and what could have been. Titans almost a TD favorite already? Seems awfully high for a team without much offense going against a Broncos squad with one hell of a passing attack (Yes, I know it's outside the redzone).

Screw Scouts Inc.

Gimme Broncos 24, Titans 16

This is a scary team. Titan's defense is very good and their offense is productive. If the running and passsing game is not working, VY can always scramble for a first down (or 10 first downs). You can have their offense in third and long all day and VY can still burn you.

If VY starts slow, or throws a couple of picks early, Fisher may pull the kid. That' seems to be the only way to stop him (get in his head early, get a few picks, have Fisher pull the plug).

Really our run D has been doing quite well. It should be a very fun game to watch.

Steelers stopped him but they got a holding on a big td run, so even they almost let him get loose.

He's so fast and Titans run blocking pretty good. I don't think our linebackers or safetys near fast enough to stop CJ.

We could still win if Orton puts ball into endzone 3-4 times. But I think Johnson gets loose for 150 and 2 scores.

How does our running game get a free pass, laying it all on Orton?

More like if we can put the ball into the endzone 3-4 times.

Watching the Titan's defense, they only have 10-men on the field and our TEs and Slot could be very effective attacking this weakness. The glaring hole ........ #52 Jamie Winborn

The Giants bottled Johnson up for most of the game yesterday until it got out of hand.

This team has 99 problems but Orton ain't one. I don't know what you kids are listening to these days.

I do think this is the most winnable game of the next 3, let's make it happen!

hopefully the defense that was on the field against the Colts shows up like that against the Titans

and hopefully our offense is doing butt rapping itself for the year
