Elways first mistake was not teaching Elvis's agent how to use a fax machine?

I believe there was no reason they needed to pressure Doom into beating some deadline. They should have paid him his ,money and then make him reduce his salary after the season or trade him. Instead THEY CUT HIM FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN TO SAVE $7 Million.

That was a mistake or a miscalculation on Elway's part. I am sure Elway has learned something from that.

In other News a trusted Computer program predicts Denver/Arizona Super Bowl. Last year at this time the computer picked a Denver/Seattle Super Bowl.

Against what kind of O lines? Serious question. Have the Ravens faced tougher/equal/lesser teams then the Broncos have so far? Have other team mates had a good number of sacks that may have affected his actual numbers? Been double teamed much? Held "all game long" like Von has in most games? There are a lot of variables that would affect my opinion on that meme.

I'm on my phone and am in no position to try to find some of those stats.

We got the same production from Phillips last year for 1 or 2 mil instead of Elvis' salary.

Then we got Ware this year who is a far superior player to Doom.
What mistake? Elvis got greedy, he got cut and went on to the Ravens.

Elvis was hurt and then underproduced in big games, was a liability agains the run, and was playing second fiddle to Miller. He was overpaid for what he was giving us. They gave him the opportunity to shop a trade and no one bit, so they made him an offer which was accepted, had a deal worked out, and then had some tickey-tack **** go down with the agent. If Elway had just rolled over and taken that, it would have sent a message to every player and agent, that this FO doesn't actually have any bark to their bite.

We then went on to offer Elvis a contract to sign, but he decided to take his ball and go home. I'm sorry, I don't see how any of this is Elway's fault.

Also, if Elvis was still playing on the same team as Von Miller, he would not be leading the league in sacks.

Maybe. Could also be that Elway isn't going to put up with such a display of game-playing, especially when it involves millions of dollars. You let one player get away with it, you are weak in the team's eyes and others will try the same crap. If I recall correctly, Elway did roll back the deadline and rewrote some of the contract. He didn't give Elvis a third chance.

I wish, Arizona is the 2013 Chiefs... They aren't beating Seattle or Green Bay in the playoffs

I think that is everyone's feeling but they do have a good defense..... maybe it is better than we think. Seattle's offense hasn't been as good this year as it was last year. There is hope!!

Instead of staryting a new thread I see that the Saints have released WR Joe Morgan in a house cleaning statement.

Any team can put in a waiver claim for Morgan, who had a 67-yard run and a 62-yard reception in Week 12 and has shown flashes of ability in his three-year span with the team. Perhaps a receiver-needy contender (New England?) might put up with Morgan's distractions for the home stretch in exchange for a few explosive plays.

Bring him in and cut Caldwell.

I don't think that's relevant. Doom is a great player.
It's not like everybody should be surprised he leads the league in sacks.
That's what he does...

I still maintain his agent took a gamble and failed.

Elway took a gamble too. Ware is great but he is making a ****-ton more than Doom an he is producing less. Either way I am not banging on Elway really. I was happy to see Doom playing well. He is a standup guy.

Oh no doubt. He tried to pull one over on Elway thinking Doom was too good of a player to fold. If Elway fell for it, he would be a push over to all his clients and other players. That ****head got canned by Elvis and every other agent now knows that you can't dick over Elway. That cut of Doom will be Elway's backbone for many years. Our GM has balls, big balls and you need those to be in his business.

Von has 13, Ware has 10, Broncos are the only team with two players in the top 10. I'm more than happy to have 23 from our pair of premier pass rushers.

It's McDaniel's fault for backloading the hell out of that contract.
