Get over it.

True, Shanahan's failures in the draft are many and varied. It does seem like he never fully mastered it. And as soon as his teams stopped making the playoffs regularly, it was a great enough fault to show him the door.

I would love to be wrong, but I don't see the Broncos winning 2 superbowls in McDaniel's first four years as head coach. So, he's probably going to get a shorter leash than Shanahan did. McDaniel's isn't inheriting a hall of fame quarterback and tight end who helped revolutionize the position. So he doesn't get the same luxury of blowing first round picks if he wants to build a winning team.

I'm still taking a wait and see approach. But if McDaniels has failed to get the team over 500 in a season by the end of his third year, I'll probably get on the fire McDaniels bandwagon at that time.

I was hoping for the best but cringed in his post draft presser when he said he was going to be "Baby Champ" .. knowing that was just drawing a target on his back as a hotrod who thought more highly of himself than likely any of het other vets would. At least until he could prove he deserved the rep.

Shanahan also drafted TD, Orlandis Gary, Al Wilson, Mike Anderson, Reggie Hayward, Portis, DJ, Foxworth, DWill, Dumervil, Marshall etc.

Meanwhile McDaniel's 2nd round pick is still learning how to line up in the right formation.

So maybe we hold off on the draft comparisons until McDaniels drafts his first pro-bowler.

Alright, I'l do it:

Middlebrooks, Nash, Toveissie, Foster, Clarrett, Lelie, Crowder, Moss (verdict still out, not good).... I could go on.

The verdict is still out on Moreno, but he is definitely not the problem. Ayers has looked really godo in preseason and in game one.

Also, I might understand "TomServo" more if he spoke English.

You don't draft a player and have him make the Pro Bowl his rookie year, BTW.

I seemed to notice the same lame effort in the last game he played when he intercepted that pass and went to run it back against the Vikings.

In running it back, he seemed to be giving it a half effort and seemed more concerned about looking cool instead of blazing it into the endzone.

Too fly McSpry...........goodbye.

No, under Shanahan they just competed for offensive/defensive rookie of the year awards in TD, Anderson, Portis, Clady, DJ.

But then again, I'm not the one that made the comparison between the two coaches. It justs gets kind of lame when people defend Josh's mistakes by citing Shanahan's as if that's some sort of excuse.

Mcd botched more drafts in two years than shanny did in 14 years.
Yep. Poops comparing 3rd and 4th round misses by Shanahan to Mcdaniels' 1st round blunders is laughable at best.

2 years, 2 massively ****edup drafts. Anytime we want an excuse for McDaniels errors, we just have to look to the orangemane I guess

The Goodmans must have had no trouble at all finding another job, what with how good they were at drafting, right? Oh wait, they're out of the league? Dumb clown.

You only seem to remember the 2006 draft. Here are the Shanny Fails by year. I removed all the 6th & 7th rounder to play fair, except for 2003, when he missed on all 10 picks.

As soon as Shanahan finds out their available he's likely to get them into the Redskins organization.

WOW! post#36

Seeing all the Shanny misses together like that makes me wonder how we ever won a game.

It's scary to think what Shanny will do coupled with a GM that knows how to acquire talent.

If only Pat had said after the 2003 draft abortion, " Mike we're bringing in a real GM focus on coaching."
