Did anyone catch the premiere?

Did some of you cringe, piss through your apron's and throw your cooking spatula's at the TV when you saw live tackling in TRAINING CAMP? It's hard to believe right? ANOTHER TEAM running a physical, full on tackle, practice during TRAINING CAMP?

I was thinking that exact thing when watching it...they seem to play pretty well too

It's a good show... getting inside the doors of life in the NFL. Any football fanatic should love it, regardless of their feelings of a certain team/player/coach/person.

Speaking of, Cromartie was looking pretty nice and the off season drills he was running with the tires looked intense... props.

Love this show. They really do as good of a job as you can of giving you an idea of camp from every angle.

I love Hard Knocks. For some reason though, Rex Ryan lost me. He seems a bit goofy, imo. Last year Marvin Lewis seemed so much more hardcore than Ryan in comparison.

Thank so? I thought it was the other way around. I actually lost respect for Marvin after last years hard knocks... doesn't seem like a real winning coach with passion.

I didn't get that feeling, but I couldn't believe Marvin puts up with the meddling owner

True. Definitely shows some perspective to how Bowlen lets his coaches do the job (at least that's what's said).

It seems as if Marvin is too laid back in sense... and when he gets fiery it's not real fiery.

He did have a successful season though with the Bengals.

Maybe it's all about our preconcieved. Before last season's Hard Knocks I always thought Marvin Lewis was weak and a bad coach, but I loved watching him last year.

On the flip side, I thought Ryan was going to be the most intense coach with fiery speeches and insane work ethic.... but half the time he seems to be goofing off.

I like Ryan's personality, I was just expecting something different I guess.

It was the 1st episode... so we'll see as the season progresses. As with him goofing off and all that, that could be a good part of HBO showing entertainment. He's definitely probably goofing off moreso than other coaches, but that's along with his personality.

As far as work ethic goes, I'm sure it's there... they didn't focus on it too much this episode. We know the fiery speeches are there... there's no doubt to that.

believe me, Rex is going to unload on someone...it's just a matter of time

as one of the players said, he works well there because he is viewed as one of them

One thing I always find funny (and it is a good angle, so i will not blame them) is how they tout basic camp fodder (and how the coaches discuss said players as if they are all future pro-bowlers.) Like after watching the Bengals last year, they discussed all their running backs like they were going to be huge stars. And last night, they talked about Kevin Basped like he was going to change the game...only to cut him a few minutes later because of a knee problem.
