Default Shefter: Fargas on the way

Former Raiders RB Justin Fargas scheduled to fly to Denver tonight to take a physical and try to finalize a deal with Broncos. Deal likely.

I remember when we were kicking the snot out of the raiders on opening day 2008 (Royal's great first game when Marshall was out). Most of their team was quitting but Fargas was giving all he had every time he touched the ball.

I like this. He's not flashy and he probably won't break too many long runs, but he'll give you everything he's got and I can appreciate that.

I actually like this.

I'm still trying to be optimistic about the season, glad to see mcD isn't just throwing in the cards (just yet).

I like it. I've always liked Fargas. Tough player who can move the chains. If White gets healthy over the next couple weeks...then we should be fine going into the season with Fargas and White toting the rock. Now Moreno can take all the time he needs.

Good pickup for much needed position.

Assuming Moreno and Buck are back by the opener, RB just jumped up to being a position of strength in my opinion.

Lendale is out for the first four games of the season.

Why is it that everyone things Fargas can't break a long one? Dude has electric speed... Fast as Portis anyhow. I think he ran like a 4.33 when he was drafted, one of the reasons Mock always wanted him so bad. I wonder what Mock will say about this signing, my guess is he will say it's too late and he is past his prime, lol.

Nooooo! Sacrilege! He plays bigger than he really is - tries to punish tacklers on every play. He eventually ends up hurt after repeatedly slamming into the wall, but he's money while he's actually on the field. I hate you guys. I hate you all...

That's right. Then Fargas will need to be the man for the first couple of games until Moreno is 100%. It will be interesting to see these other guys...Ball etc. in the 1st preseason game.

Yeah, Fargas used to have some jets...I'm not sure he's still in the 4.3's at 30...but, he's probably faster than Moreno.

No doubt. You get the feeling that even a Headline reading "Broncos trade Tyler Polumbus for Titans Chris Johnson" would get a negative reaction from some....
