Default T.O. a Bengal

OGOchoCinco #OCNNBREAKINGNEWS Terrell Owens is officially a Cincinnati Bengals, Cincy let's welcome him with open arms, it's on now!

I have my doubts it will work, does anyone really think TO will be ok playing 2nd or 3rd fiddle?

Terrell Owens behaved himself pretty well in Buffalo.

He is at the end of his career and he knows it may be his last shot in the NFL if he acts like a punk.

Basically, he does not have the leverage that allowed him to act like he did a few years back.

Chad Johnson, Antonio Bryant, and T.O. on the field at the same time will be interesting.

Per a league source, Owens will receive a base salary of $2 million. He can earn up to another $2 million in incentives.

The source says that the incentives are based on receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

why wouldn't he just hold out and see if a contender needs him later in the season? wouldn't it be more worthwhile to get a ring at this point in his career than play on a team that already has 2 diva WR's

I think it will work out okay. I wonder if Antonio Bryant's knee isn't going to be ready.

I think it is a great signing by the Bengals. They are accustomed to outspoken WRs and honestly, TO is the hardest practicing player I have ever watched. Dude flat out goes 110% during practice. In Dallas he would always run his route first ( in drills) then stand there and encourage the rest of the receivers. I remember him running a deep out in the team on team practices in Dove Valley two years ago. He missed the catch hustled back and ran the route again. Most of the guys at this point were spent... Gassed... Barely able to run the full practice (95• heat will do that!). After the 2nd attempt he stayed right there and gave tips to his fellow receivers. I think the guy can be an arrogant cancer at times, but his work ethic is admirable.

I think its a good signing. The Bengals could be a tough team...that's before TO...with him, they just added more talent.

The Bengals need their Dline and secondary to play well.

Bengals are an interesting team to watch. Their defense is on the verge of being very good and they are young and their offence can make some noise if Palmer can stay healthy. They are in a tough division but I'd love to see them come out on top (I hate the ravens and I'm tired of the stellers, in fact, I'd like to see the stellers tank).

As long as he knows he isn't the TO he was 5 years ago, he'll be fine as long as he's getting paid...

Damn...I was hoping he'd be shunned totally and end up in the UFL.

Figures a lowlife organization like the Bengals would pick him up, a pox on them and their fans.

The Jets were also interested from what I heard.

I was wondering if he would get an offer from the Bears during TC if their WR's were sucking bad. Looks like that is not gonna happen.

I live in Cincinnati .
Bengals fans seem to think they win it all now OOO ...

All day i've had to remind people that T.O. is past his prime , a drop machine , and nothing more that a #2 wr to the Bengals at this point not Jerry Rice , and if I was them I would be disappointed.

That's your big move ? T.O. ?

If they wanted to make a SPLASH at WR and try to get over the hump they should have went after Marshall .

But watching the locals who love their Bungals is just so much fun.

I hope he has a great year. San Diego gets to play them while we get the ****ing Ravens.

The Bengals aren't Super Bowl favorites, but they won the AFC North last year and are playoff contenders going into the season. So they are not that far off.

I predict this will go relatively seamlessly as far as attitude. However I predict it won't equate to that much production on the field.

Carson Palmer is going to have to really step it up this year.

I was not impressed with him at all last year.

He has had a major knee injury and a fairly significant elbow injury....so maybe he gets it together again in 2010....but since the knee injury, he has looked tentative to me the last few years and gets awfully nervous when there is traffic around his legs.

Here are my thoughts. Who cares.

I find it pretty sad that the bengals are so desperate they can't find a young receiver with a good attitude to fill their hole. On the flip side I like what we're doing. We're drafting and acquiring smart good character guys. This is going to pay off.

On a side note I just had an NFL player stay at my ranch. He was a member of the Steelers for many years. Had several long conversations around the camp fire about how the NFL works. Pretty interesting stuff. Some of it was pretty sad actually. We as fans get all worked up and personal about the game. It really is a business to the players and nothing more sadly enough. All the money and corporations have taken the fun out of the game for the players. He said the last time he enjoyed playing football was high school. It's all down hill from there according to him.

I've found most former players to be a pretty bitter lot.

They get bitter and spiteful after they are out of the game for one reason or the other.

Nobody forced them to play football for a living....lots of other professions out there.
