Default The Social Network Movie Preview

I think this looks pretty awesome... I'll even go so far as to say that (provided they do this right, and from what I've seen so far, I think they are), this could be one of the most important movies of this generation due to the social and political impact that it could make.

I can't wait...

Looks pretty badass. I've worked in social media (specifically in SEO, content generation, and marketing) for the last six years, so it's been awesome to watch facebook grow (and to watch myspace grow and then fall apart)... I will definitely see this flick.

I don't know if it puts him in the minority or not, but what I do know is that Facebook is revolutionizing our culture in the same way that Microsoft did in the 90's, and Google did at the turn of the century, and smart phones are at present. Facebook is way beyond the fad phase.

Haha, SEO and specifically black hatting was the death of myspace.

I hated myspace.

Facebook was smart by keeping it friendly to look at regardless of age. Visiting somebody's mySpace page made me want to stab forks into my eyeballs and convulse violently.

Thankfully, the only time I have to go to that wretched site is when I find a little known band that I want to hear more on.

Oh, I see Judy. You think I had a problem with your retarded tiger comment.

How quaint.

I actually don't have a problem with your post. I just find it amusing when people go out of their way to comment that they don't like something. Hence the "super cool story bro" comment.

It'll be okay, Britney. If you're wearing panties, unwad them. You and your tiger will make it through.

Also I have a hunch that this film is going to launch several careers, inlcuding the official Justin Timberlake is a serious crossover actor in the vein of Will Smith campaign.

I'm really looking forward to this one...

What's so revolutionary about Narcissism? It's been around forever. If facebook has revolutionized anything it has revolutionized the way companies gather personal information to sale to advertisers.

Narcissism isn't what's revolutionary. The evolution of communication is what's revolutionary. Human evoution isn't about us growing new appendages, or gills. It's about how we communicate. From speech to smoke signals to writing to messengers to telegraphs to telephones to radio to computer to mobile devices. It's all about communication. And behind every major revolution in communication has been war as civilizations use that advancement to try and expand their reach.

This movie is about a small piece of that. As a communication geek, I'm really looking forward to it.

I have a friend that was offered to join these guys in the beginning but declined because he had too much work. It's also weird to see a friend of a friend as one of the characters in there.

We all know your feelings on FB O&BB....But that's really not the point of this thread.

I was no fan of Nazi Germany but still managed to enjoy Das Boot.

I'm a pretty typical FB user (use it more than some, but less than alot others) but even if I wasn't a user at all I would still seek out this movie. Love it, hate it, or be indifferent toward it...There's no denying the cultural impact of it on society in general and that to me is what will make this a great movie.

Nah man, FaceBook is gay, and hell even this whole "internet" and "global community" thing is a passing fad.

Spelling has gotten worse. Grammer has gotten worse. The topics discussed have gotten worse. I'm sorry but "OMG I ate a gr8 sand witch 2day at my ho beezers howse yo!" is not progress. Twatting about what inane and banal exersize you happened to do is a sign if the idiocracy more than an evolution.

If you are reffering to me here you are wrong. Obviously I'm a fan of the internets and online communities. I'm here all the damn time. I just don't think having a billboard on the net to advertise the nothingness of ones life is important.

In The old days, one would have to be interesting to recieve a billboard. Maybe a talent of some kind. Facebook is not advanced. Angeline boffing a millionaire to buy her a billboard on the sunset strip was advanced.
