If you get Direct TV through Walmart, in addition to a better rate and all the fix'uns, you will get a $75 gift card to Walmart.

OK, called back today guns blazing... NFL Sunday Ticket Max at $147, but got $150 in service discounts for the year. So, more or less free... good to go.

the person asked why i was cancelling, and i said i get all the local games for my team. he asked who my team was, and i said the denver broncos, and he was a fan also! haha, from utah... said he and his buddy were planning on heading out here for the raiders game. good stuff.

just got off the phone. Called in saying want to lower my monthly etc.. blah blah blah, basic rundown is this. I will be paying the same price i am right now, keep same level package, add sunday ticket max and get genie with 3 genie minis all for the same preice i was paying when i started the call, no fees for new equipiment no install fees etc. then after 6 months my bill will actually go down an extra $15 a month for 6 month.

So all in all after an hour long phone call (yes you have to put in work), i am getting sunday ticket max free (after different discounts, my bill staying same price as was), and upgraded to genie on every tv in house

ive said before in this thread i cant stand redzone. its not even on the sme level. I would rather watch my 8 games on 1 screen than the 1 red zone channel. to each their own though

i like watching the game not highlights. rz is too much like sportscenter for me

I called this week and said my girlfriend really wants to just switch to Comcast, and asked to be sent to the team that can cancel my account for me. They made it easy on me by transferring me to the wrong place twice, disconnecting once. About an hour later, some "account manager" threw the Genie, 4 mini Genies and Sunday Ticket in for this year at me.

Boosh.

Mind if I ask how long you've been w/DirecTV? (Or ordered Sunday Ticket, anyways).

Always helps to know that if I were to call in and try to get a comparative deal.

I've got to make my annual phone call and put in my 30 to 45 minutes of haggling.

I've been putting it off, as I haven't felt like going through the process, but it's worth it to save a few hundred bucks every year and I'm pretty sure they'll upgrade me to the Genie for free as well, as they are pushing that big time right now and want to get it in as many households as possible.

I'd actually be willing to pay full price for the Sunday Ticket if Directv sent the chick in the Genie commercials over to my house.

I'd have her make me a turkey sandwich and mow the lawn while I watched my Denver Broncos.

Uverse isn't much better.

The thing is that all the offerings are the same but different. They all have the same kind of features but they do them differently. It reminds me of Server Backup applications, they all do the same type of things, each one has a feature or 2 the other doesn't have but in the end they do the same thing.

inconsistent billing month-to-month, insane prices, ****ty menu [speed] compared to directv

the only good things about comcast are the internet speeds, and no contract required

Lovin life right now.

I called up directv to legitimately cancel my service and switch to Verizon triple play and was talked into staying with directv for the following deal after 45 minutes of going back and forth:

My previous service:

Directv's lowest basic hd cable package with no movie channels, nothing extra, on two tvs (with basic hd-dvr on one tv): $105 per month.

New service:

Genie/whole home DVR
HD plan includes 25 extra channels
All movie channels free for 4 months (HBO, Starz, Cinemax, Showtime, etc)
Free NFL Sunday Ticket MAX

Total per month: $47.00

So my 2 year agreement with my cable provider is set to expire after August. I was wanting to switch to DirecTV to get free Sunday Ticket just in time for the Broncos season. When I go on their website it says that this offer expires in 3 days. What the heck are my options?

Just sign up for Direct TV now and try to get the installation people to come later...see what they can do.

Really? Of all the things you could do with her, this is what you came up with?
