Adopt-a-Bronco:
VP John Elway
Default OT - Nugz nearing 3-year, $60 million extension w/Melo

He could be a free agent after next season.

That would be great. I had heard rumblings he was tempted to go to NY to play for the Knicks when he became a FA, but it sounds like he's open to staying in Nugget blue for the foreseeable future. He may not be LeBron level important to the city of Denver, but the Nuggets lose their entire identity if he bolts.

the team needs to make some moves to make it evident that they want to give him help to win a championship. without a legit big man on the roster they are never going to the Finals.

Would be a huge coup if they could get it done. Probably more of a tactical move to avoid the CBA uncertainty than a proclamation of his undying love for Denver, but good for the Nuggets nonetheless.

I like that it's only 3 years. I've cooled considerably on 'Melo, but I don't know that we have any other options. The entire roster needs re-tooling as far as I'm concerned. I mean, I know losing GK was a big deal last year, but this roster has flaws anyways. I don't know. We'll see how things play out.
